Game WONT update!?

I previously posted about script errors but saw my game hadnt updated from 1.2 despite installing 1.3 & 1.5 i have since uninstalled/reinstalled tried 1.3 only and 1.5 and this didnt patch to 1.5 and the loaders didnt seem to install anything and then reinstalled again from 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.5 and it still stops at 1.2 im desparate for someone to tell me how i successfully update the game to 1.5 so i can play the mod.. I am on Vista 64bit the game is installed too C:drive\programs\Activision..

Did you originally install RTW to that folder? Have you moved it?

If you move the game from the installed folder the patches may not work - some patches don't ask for a folder where the game is installed. The idea is to install and patch in the same location.

Did you launch RTW after each patch to confirm that the patch worked?

Edited: Having seen this thread (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=389665) which I've closed it appears that you installed RTW into your c:\program files (x86) folder and then moved it. I suggets that you try and patch it there. Personally, I don't install any games to that folder and have created my own folder for games.

Also what have you done with UAC? I always turn off UAC on a new system before installing any gsames. Once it's off it stay that way.

I'm downloading the gold version off steam hopefully i wont encounter any issues with patches then..thanks for your reply!!

I am useless .. well i followed the instructions for steam the the letter seriously!.. installed Gold on steam.. installed the mod to the desktop folder specially for that.. dragged the files into Rome steam folder pressed yes for the one or 2 overwrites.. used the mod launch code on steam .. then i get the skeleton error had by previous people however when i read the fixes nothing was steam related so im not sure on my approach :S...sorry im a noob at this stuff

What happens if you open steam and launch RTW or BI without using mod launch code?

Well ive been playing it all week online lol.. and also some custom battles so it works fine!! and the mod launch code i copy and pasted with a space as instructed.. also i still get the loading screen from RS2 the odd time it gets merged with Rome Gold or Rome gold has its own and no rs2.. so messed up :/

Just attempted various factions on steam code and also using the launcher both now let the first credits load up then EXE. crash this time :/

it appears that to me also the code is a no go. I just use the launcher and it works

I had issues with the installer, and some with steam.

Unfortunately what I put down here wasn't a solution, I tried it and didn't get your problem.

My bad! If I can figure it out, I'll definitely update you guys.

Could be that your steam is installed to program files.
I would advice you to re install steam directly to you :C/ disk.
