    Default Gimme Gimme Gimme!!!

In SPQR 5.0 I feel that more needs to be done to Mesopotamia, it’s too blanned right now. I know in the game it’s probably the most compact part of the map but that’s because civilization started there! my request is that nomadic peoples be add to the area, nomads that have a distinctive Asian look to them such as these...

Also there should be some way of resembling the Silk Road, it stretched from Rome through Persia and ending in China. It was very important to the Western and Mesopotamian societies because it provided a huge trade flow when properly managed!

please LT, if possible can you add these features i know 5.0 isnt far off but ive been looking out for these since god knows how long!

Asian nations can build the silk road as a city upgrade, the nomadic peoples are symbolized by the mercs of the area.

Basically, the silk road in the way you are describing it is impossible. However, eastern nations get the spice road and silk road and whatnot as an economic building of sorts. The nomads you speak of and refer to, however, do not appear for hundreds of years. It wouldn't be...right, to have Huns and Goths fighting against seleucids and parthians (not YET anyhow).

I do agree work should be done one that section of the map, but you have to keep in mind this game is meant to be played as a roman faction, and it really isn't until VERY late in the game you'll be reaching the far reaches of that map.

you miss understand i didnt mean add the mongols in the game, however there were nomadic peoples in that area and the link was there to show what they look like to a certain degree (i know the link was mongols, but there were peoples that looked like that in the area thats why the scythians have a distinct asian feel to them). its a shame that the arabian tribes are not more developed too, them and the the Uighurs (the mongol lookin steppe people that lived next to the persians) would really make the game i feel! like how Iberia is a united rebel coalition, arabia could be too and it would be cool to play was the Uighurs!

as for the Silk Road, i know you can build it with certain factions but the actual road spread from rome to China, i was thinking about having one large highway thats there through out the game and who ever controls a stretch of it gains a trade bonus, but i dont know anythin about modding so i donmt know if what im talking about can be done.

hmm i sounds difficult to add the silk road as you picture it. Maby you should ask Lt if he would honor us with his presence.

And about the Uighurs, i didnt know they lived close to persia? I thought they lived even further east.

Well, the map only extends into the westernmost part of persia.

Just add a province specific resource that is required so you can build a building that increases trade output by 100% in the province it is built. and add these to the provinces that were on the historic silk road. so thus if only one has the silk road upgrade the effect is much lower than if 2 provinces next to each other have it... or so i would think. LT will not expand the East. Frankly because he doesn't want to go through the hassel and it its of no real value to him.

And it would make it slightly unbalanced trade wise, which he would have to correct.

If one lot of Eastern factions got extra trade bonuses, then the West has to have some sort of compensation.

its not the west tho! it travels through a very thin area and goes all the way to Rome, so the west has it too. its not like the entire east has it, just one or two factions that it passes through and lets face it those factions would be pontis and armenia, factions that never seem to get a jump start in the game and are normally wiped out!
