any way to tone down Faction mini map colours?

This may seem like a fussy request but I just find that when you have exposed all of the mini map, the various colours present are rather glaring and harsh and they also obscure all of the work thats been done to show the geography on the mini map.

Does anyone know of a setting I can change to lower their tones and make them easier on the eye?

i don't know how to, but to make them translucent (see through almost) right?

search for (of the faction you want):

primary_colour red 0, green 80, blue 190
secondary_colour red 183, green 152, blue 84

primary = main colour
secondary = border colour


the colour numbers = RGB on paint.. so just check the colour you want on paint and see it's RGB number and type it on the file and you're done

Actually , something else springs to mind. Does anyone know what I would have to do in order to prevent watchtowers built on the Strat map from illuminating areas that correspond on the mini map, if that makes any sense.

To do so, don't you just have to change the border color to the same as the main color?

Yes. However if you make the border(secondary) colour ever so slightly darker than the primary colour, you get a really nice effect because you still retain an edge around your empire and the lines inside your empire are no longer overpowering to look at.

Im just experimenting now with all of this.

Note: I changed HRE's borders to gray-ish. So they are still visible in the map. If one faction has both colours as black, they can't be seen on the minimap.

I must inform you that I don't know how the sub-mod manager works. And that file is for early(?) because I'm using early campaign atm.
