    Default +population=+taxes always?

    Ok, if I lower the taxes to the higher classes the economy grows and I get more taxes on the long term. If I lower the taxes to the lower class I get more population. Does this mean that I get more taxes from them on the long term, or just that I get towns and ports? I ask because in rtw it wasnt that way.

    Just towns and ports, no additional income (except what the towns and ports give, which can be a lot).

    A question about growing the economy by lowering taxes: what are the direct effects of lower taxes on the upper class? For example, will workshops/lumbermills/etc become more prosperous, producing more income per turn?

    Thanks for the help in advance

    Lowering tax rates on your upper class means faster town wealth growth, leading to bigger tax income over time. Lowering tax rates on your lower class will have no immediate effect on your income, but will grow new towns more quickly which will then add to your tax income.

    I don't know about "poor" or "growing" towns becoming "wealthy" or "prosperous" or even if those titles have an effect on your tax income, so I'll say maybe.

    Thanks ODaly, that makes sense. One more question; if I lower taxes for the lower class in a region that has 'no more towns' upcoming, will that fact stay unchanged? Or can lowering taxes on the lower class possibly create new towns at some point in a region where there are none to create at the previous tax rate?

    Hope this question makes sense

    Yes, the question does make sense, and no, lower low class tax will not make new villages grow;
    if all villages have grown into towns in a region, lower class taxes don't matter at all there anymore.
