What faction has the best polearm, (halberd type) unit?

I been reading up on a couple of threads on the use of Pikeman and cavalry charges, and I found out about halberd units and how good they are for killing cavalry. Sort of like put the pikeman in front to absorb the charge and the halberds right behind to move in the for the kill. And I tried a custom battle out with 2 scots halberd militia and 2 scots noble pikeman against 2 french lancers, and 2 french gendarms and it worked great. The Scots slaughterd the french cavalry with the Halberd units inflicting 2-3 times the numbers of casualties compared to the noble pikeman (121, 92, 49, 49)...(I didn't know halberds were that great, and I never used them before)..anyways, what faction has the best Halberd Unit? Or Polearm type unit that works the same way?..

You could just see for yourself in the custom battle screen.
But if i recall correctly the 'halberd-countries' are basically western European ones.

Most european countries get the generic halberd man at arms, and halberdiers. The best halberdier unit is pope's swiss guard by far, easy access (only need city walls), really fast replenish rate, large unit pool, and they ALWAYS fight to the late man. But since swiss guard is kind of an "exotic" unit because playing as the pope is cheating, the danes have obudhaer who are the second best halberd unit, they are harder to get because you need high level barracks to produce them. France also have voulgier who are inferior stat wise, but they do their job just fine. Teutonic order have foot halbbruders and Seljuk turks have janissary heavy infantry, those two unit are good offensive halberd units but don't have spear wall.

Turkish janissaries heavy infantry. Kill everything, cavalry, infantry, anything. Nothing can stop them.

Except the Templar Guard, Ritterbruder, and dismounted Imperial Knights....

Yeah the Templar guard for the crusaders are pretty darn good. I'd probably go for them because they live longer.

For spear-wall halberdiers, then swiss obviously, but faction-wise probably Denmark's Obudshaer and militia-grade swordstaff

Yeah the Danes as a faction have a ton of good polearms. I love the templar guard, but you can recruit more Obudshaer over a short period of time. Swordstaff militia are great too.

thanks everyone, ...I just checked out the danes polearm units and they have some great cavalry killers. A lot better than the Scots, which I am playing right now. I may quit the scots and start a game playing the Danes. The Scot units are kind of beat.
