CTD after choosing Era

I have a clean install of M2TW and kingdoms, and installed 3.0, 3.3, and the hotfix, but when i click on the shortcut, the era chooser comes up, then i chose which ear i want, files are copied, then vanishes, then kingdoms launcher pops up, thinking this is supposed to happen, i click play and click m2tw
but it seems like it starts, and as soon as the loading screen comes up, it vanishes and CTD's a half second later

i tried lookin in the forums
but didnt find anything
ill keep looking while waiting for reply
any help would be great?!

it says this when i crash

"Medieval 2 has encountered and unspecified error and will now close"
and the normal game runs fine

Do you have the steam version of M2TW installed? If so, please see the stickied steam users thread.

hmm, i figured that if i changed the install path i wouldnt have to worry
but i'll give it a look and check back if it doesnt work

it worked!
now i can play this beautiful looking mod
now that i know how to install and play, can get my friend hooked up
