Re: Scythed Chariots
What units did the gauls have?
A low level levy army will be in trouble against chariots, especially if they don't have skirmishers.

Re: Scythed Chariots
err.. from memory they had 1 late armoured general, 3 noble cavalry. 2 chosen swordsmen, the rest swordsmen, heavy spearmen and skirmishers/archers.
definitely not all levys, they maybe slightly overpowered. i'm definitely going to start using them more in my campaigns!
also i find the elephants particularly underpowered, the regular indian ones especially. the just die too easily, i'll end up losing 5/6 elephants against a unit of dorphyroi or levy spearmen. is that realistic?
and lastly i think there is abug with the elephants if you start with say 72 in the unit, lose 48 in a battle if you fight another battle you have 24 elephants all without archers? so even if the actual elephants die in battle, when they fight another battle it just seems that the archers have died, you get a unit of just elephants... is that a vanilla bug?

The elephant bug is a classic from vanilla, about the balance looks like I need to review them a bit more.
Remember that elephants shouldn't really get bogged down though.
