Has anyone thought about taking all the lore/legends/history of Dragon Age and recreating it into a Medieval 2: Total War mod? I think it be pretty darn cool!

Is there any news as to the production of this mod? Website or anything?
I was just thinking about this too and about to make a post...but if its all ready in development anyone got any links or whatever to show what they got so far?
to bad this is very good platform for Dragon-Age lots of unit ideas... me sad now i go cry like...![]()
If my 3D modeling program is compatible with Medieval 2, I will consider making a Dragon age mod.
My 3D program is Blender 3D

I'm no modder, I'm more of a writer and ideas guy. Technical issues are sadly beyond me, but writing issues and coming up with concepts for units and such are much more along my lines. I'd be willing to talk with anyone who's interested in collaborating.
Wolfen how long does a mod generally take to work on with a team of 6 or 7 ?

One thing a Dragon Age mod does not need is ideas/unit concepts. The sheer quantity of material behind the franchise would make coming up with ideas very easy as everything is already present.
The hard bit would be creating the art assets. Lets say it was Ferelden only, time of the blight, just to make the mod smaller and more manageable. It would still require at least six or so factions each with several units and each unit with several variations. That may not seem high but lets not forget one can not re-texture a vanilla model and call it a darkspawn, it would take someone with real talent and plenty of time to make them especially when many are not standard, like Ogres, Dwarves, Qunari and so on.
The text work and scripting is not overly difficult, but it is often quite time consuming and not overly rewarding and it is not always easy getting people to volunteer for that aspect of modding.
It is the perfect franchise to mod Total War for, but it requires at least several dedicated people creating the art and model assets.

Sadly, I can only offer the talents I possess Wolfen. I know nothing about the technical aspects of writing code or such. I'm just a writer.
I can do quite a lot along the lines of writing events, but nothing along the lines of writing code.
I am no expert, I have only been on a team of one when it comes to making a Total War mod but I will answer the best I can.
Good question 99Androidguy777, it would depend how dedicated those six or seven people are, also how much time each member spends on the mod each week what talents they bring. To pin down the length of time it could actually take would be impossible. The only mods that actually get anywhere are made by those that are truly passionate, one has to find ones own motivation and few really do. If you are a 3D modeller then all you would have to worry about it the time it takes to make the battle map units and strat models, adding them to the game can be tricky though as a single error in the .modedb can crash the game or mess up the model entry.
Not knowing how to modify the Medieval files is not a problem FFHAuthor, editing text files, writting and adding events, creating the descriptions of factions, ancillaries and units is a major aspect and literally takes hundreds of lines of text. So long as you are able to look and write on text files for hours on end you can easily contribute. It is quite amazing how a decent map and re-worked text files can transform the game, without any real unique art assets. If you have someone in the know giving you a list of things to write, your contribution would be quite significant.

Well, I'll just be the one to throw it out there, who thinks that it might be worth a try to set up a modding group for this?
Definitely think it's worth a try, depending on whether I can fix my computer any time soon I may be able to help out as well
Hey guys. I don't have much in the way of art work creativity (although I'd love to give it a shot) but I can code and do the general managment for unit stats, factions, cultural influences and all that other fluff. I'm not an expert at it and I have taught myself so far but I'd love to start a Dragon Age mod especially since I've just started playing Origins and then Destiny again. I found a map of the whole world so I'll post it up as well.
I have an idea for a Dragonage mod, I just suck at modding, so I am looking for people to actually create it. If any experienced modders want to help, just send me a message.
Hey REDxHOSS I am all ready Creating a Dragon Age Mod.
so will there be a dragonage mod out in the near future?
