No it's not dead, they have just been having a rough time. Lots of people critisizing them for taking so long, combined with family and other commitments means that it has been on and off, rather like the 100 years war (which, I may point out, wasn't 100 years it had many times of peace)

Having loitered around a few mods for various games for quite a while now, I can tell you that 3 years is the usual worktime for large-scale mods/total conversions such as this one. So you really need to be patient.

Come on lads there are MANY good/brilliant mods out there that can fill in the gap until this is released!
*take a deep breath*: RTR VII - The Iberian Conflict, EB, RS, Iberia TW, RoP,..., Stainless Steel, etc etc...
just look around you'll find something you like.

Yeah, if you want a mod with Sparta and Athens as serperate factions ROP is a good one. However the game is not focused on them so there is not much detail in them.
