the game rule states that the General number will be roughly equal to the number of regions you control.

you have 7 generals and 11 regions. that means you are somewhat short on generals. but it looks like you have/used to have a huge family tree. you seem to have had many deaths recently. perhaps you used to have 11+ generals, then 4 of them died in battle/due to illness. Or perhaps you have always had 7-ish generals, and then quickly conquered 4 regions.

Make sure you expand your territory when your generals are still young, that way they will give births to new kids. and if you say no one made a child, that means all those generals were adopted..

    stop adopting.

Its probably punishment from the gods for having bad grammer But like the previous responce stated, the game will keep you at, give or take, one general per settlement. I've never had the problem you seem to be describing and the general per settlement rule is hardcoded so Stainless Steel isnt messing with it. How many generals do you have currently? Dont bother with age or if theyre adopted or not, just the number, and how many settlements do you own? By the screenshot it looks to be eleven

Nothing. No one said that there's something wrong in that sentence.

I mainly played with the HRE and I have never ran into a problem like this. I even make my kings first two sons infertile so they cant have heirs so my created family member Frederick von Hohenstaufens line can assume control as they historically did years later. Of course the Germans have lots of land and I blitz all the rebel towns they should have had to begin with,
Oh, for Heaven's sake, now you're being deliberately stupid.

I say use the add trait this Fertile 3 to your family members. Also you need to expand more, there is a child to city ratio in the game.

Sorry for the temporary hijack with my temporary hijinks. (Doh! Now I feel like I need to make sure my grammar and spelling is perfect in this post!)

I'm not so sure it is a child-to-city ratio. Based on my campaigns playing with the Live Long and Prosper Mod, I think it is actually a general-to-city ratio. Basically, having boys come of age at 5 (instead of 15) seems to directly limit your baby-making ability because the game counts generals, not children (I think).

Anyway, there is definitely a very strong, and hard-coded connection. So either get more cities, or "lose" some crappy family members.

    @ Bard:
When I was talking about family members I meant generals lol...guess i should have more more clear. I am not 100% sure on that but I have read somewhere that is the case, so just relaying what I know. lol. I just reload the pervious turn if I don't get at least two boys to keep the family line going.

Well I'm having the same problem atm. I had to let the king adopt when his youngest son were 36 and none of his sons were married. When the youngest son reached 44 he become married... Hopefully he will make a son before he dies in peace. Harald that are adopted have to be killed or he will take the throne. I can't let someone that aren't biological related with the first king take the throne. And I will try to make the Norwegian Blood trait to be part of my generals/family. I don't really want to kill Harald because is a damn good general and i need him in battle and give population boom to my castles.
