I can play Rome, I can play Empire, but Medieval 2 lags.....??!!

Is there any reason on why I can play Rome on huge with relatively good settings, I can play Empire on huge with relatively low settings, but whenever I play Medieval on huge with low to medium settings, its sort of choppy. Not game-ruining lag, but it does not run nearly as smoothly as empire does for me.

Also, I have windows 7.

This is more a tech question

Let's see now, are we talking vanilla or mods for all?

Rome is the least graphics intense except for mods like Europa Barbarorium.
Empire is better optimized graphically of the bunch. It finally uses multicore cpus. How well is open to discussion.
Medival2 can have good graphics if you have the horses for it. Stainless Steel is more graphics intense. Some even have Crossfire to work.

Thanks for the help. I do play EB for Rome, which runs fine unless I get in large battles, but only vanilla empire and medieval 2.

Maybe it is more optimised, but it's not as stable as Medieval 2... at least, not for me. Napoléon, a refinement of Empire, is completely stable, but Empire is not. It crashes every now and then on my system, despite having been re-installed and drivers changed and all that. Medieval 2 will crash sometimes, in battles usually, but not as much as Empire.

Your graphics chip is one of the newer ones and able to overcome some obstacles but not all.

My I suggest updaing it if possible from Intel's website.

If this does not help, I have some more that may.
