Default Playing without RR and BGR

Would people recommend playing SS with RR and BGR turned off? I'm not a very experienced player and think these mods (from my limited play time with them) made my game less fun. I don't want to get bogged down with supply and the economy when playing. So do people think it's a good idea turning them off?

Are you playing 6.3? and i would play without BGR it simply ruins the game for me, but id play with RR turned on, ive found that without it the game is bugged or something but im sure theres a fix out but lets be realistic. In those agaes there wouldnt be 1000 heavy cavalry running around everywere, so what im saying is it balances the game. Oh and in 6.3 with RR turned on you dont have to deal with supplies at all. Hope that helps

Thanks for the (quick!) reply. Yes, I've got 6.3 on torrent now. From my dim memory of playing SS last year, RR had rules that meant you could only recruit if you had certain rulers in an area and other things came into play eg a war council was convened (). When playing this I appreciated the detail and realism, but when all I really want to be doing was having epic battles, it felt as much fun as the red tape of filling in tax returns

    ^ that's BGR

RR only restrict you and the AI from recruiting mass elites armies and incorporating era system for units -mailed knights will disappear if feudals are available, and you won't get muskeet earlier than anyone in the game except rebels-

    grizzly_irl,

RR does not require you to have a General in WC, it restricts the amount of units you can recruit at any one time and limits units to when they should actually appear, so linked to events e.r Plate Mail/Gunpowder, etc

I definitely would not recommend BGR to anyone playing who is below average experience and only above average experience if you like detail and thinking.

I agree BGR isn't for everyone. However I think the RR is a must for everyone, it add's to the experience of the game without making anythign too complicated or hard.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll go RR and leave out BGR until I get my game together.
