Campaign/Custom Battles don't start
Hi, hopefully someone can help me with this problem. Whenever I attempt to start the campaign it always says "Please select an item on list" and I have numerous times, resulting in it continuously coming up with this. As well for the custom battles, when I've selected my units and am ready to start a game, it simply reverts me back to the faction screen. Could anyone help me with these problems?

It says when I close the game
"Script Error in
bi/ci/data/world/maps/campaign/the_new_shadow/descr_strut.text ,at line 13, column 1."

Do you have a fully Patched Rome (1.5) and BI (1.6)?

Uninstall the mod (by deleting the bi/ci folder), patch your BI to 1.6 and reinstall.

FYI, this is an incomplete answer. It would really help folks if y'all included info/links to the proper way to patch/notpatch RTW, since if you do it wrong, it screws up the whole installation. Patching is different for BI than it is for RTW vanilla, and there's a particular order. This post explains it as clearly as I've found (amazing how LITTLE clear information there is available about properly patching RTW):
http://rtw.heavengames.com/rtw/info/...ng/index.shtml
The problem is, I've done all the patching in the correct order, but when I go to patch 1.6, I get the following message:
"This patch will only upgrade version 1.3 to version 1.5. You can download patch 1.3 from www.totalwar.com."
I've confirmed that my BI version is 1.4, so I'm not sure what to do here...

It's hard to provide links, because mirrors keep changing every couple of weeks; we used to have links to SEGA's support page where the patches were listed, but SEGA was changing the page (and the links) every other day.
There is an issue with upgrading from 1.3 to 1.5/1.6, but I can't remember the solution off the top of my head. If you ask in the RTW tech support section, you'll probably get an answer within minutes.
A common error is that files named "bi patch 1.6" are actually the rtw 1.5 patches, and people download and install over their BI (1.34/1.4) installation and then wonder why the patch won't work.
