Sorry about not getting back to you guys, but the team member who was to put this together for us has been busy with RL.

I'll check on his status again and if he doesn't get to it, I will.

We do have our wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rome:_Total_Realism_VII

I'm not entirely sure how complete it is, but surely it could be used as base

Wow, an actual Wikipedia page? Thats pretty neat, but we'll need more info then that.
In order to complete the mod's article we need some more information, this wiki page will give us a nice start with the article and we can find more then enough pictures in the Preview thread but there is still some information that we need to declare the article finished.

For starters, a brief overview of the history in this mod would be nice. A list of modders working on the mod, included mods and required games would be nice to have as well.

I'll start digging in threads for some more information but it would be nice to have a hand with this .

It's not that we don't want to help... Just no-one really has the time to help. We barely had time to write the wiki page on wikipedia, let alone keep our own site up to date... Sorry we can't be of much help

    History:

Pre-6.0: We had our own forums, and no-one from that time is around so little is known

6.0 Gold, final version for RTW 1.2 and the last version from the original team

RTRE: 6.0 converted to 1.5/1.6, community project.

RTR: The Iberian Conflict (TIC) for BI. First taste of what VII will be, developed by a whole new team with different visions.

RTR: Fate of Empires (FOE) Latest version, whole western part of the med. sea. Introduction of many ground-breaking concepts including mini-regions.

RTR: VII. The last and final version for RTW, expanding on the concepts of FOE. No release date as of yet.

Also worth mentioning is Extended Realism Mod (ExRM), wich brings PE to a whole new level, yet not an "Official" part of RTR, but assets and members are shared between the teams

Plenty of people are around from that period(when the rtr forums were still active). Plus, the rtr forums only went dead much later on, when a good deal of work for rtr 7 had been completed(basically prior to TIC). When RTR 6 Gold had been released and RTRPE started, rtr still had its own forums.

What I think MoTtie is referring to, Florin, is that there is no one on the current team who was around then to comment on those times accurately. I know there are people, like yourself, who can add to RTR's saga, so I would invite you, and any like minded soul, to contact DukeCanada and regale him with any tales of derring do you may have of RTR's early days.

I recall the mania in the forums surrounding the impending release of RTR6, and observed, from the outside, the Tyr fiasco. It would be interesting to hear the inside stories.

Unless you`ve just fired Hamilcar, LestaT and Brusilov, they were there when the rtr forums were still functioning. Brusilov might have been there since before RTR 6, but I wouldn`t know for sure.

Hello, im the RTR member responsible for the RTR VII page on wiki. If you could be so kind as to send me a PM with all the various questions that could be answered I would be delighted to answer them over the next few days as time permits.

Sorry I didnt see this thread earlier, but again like Pat said, RL is really kicking me in the ass right now.

Come to think of it I really do need to work on that wiki page...

All we need at the moment is the history, I can´t upload pictures to the TWC wiki article but I´m sure one of my colleagues can do that. That list that was posted here is a good start but I could use some more info to fatten it some more.

If you have any info or tales, please send it to me . I actually have a word document made and have posted it in the dev forum for everyone to read. review and edit. Sadly I only know of TIC and forward. I wasnt even here when RTR6 and before was being worked on.

LestaT has posted 2 times or so for 2 years, left the team after TIC, Brusilov hasn't been active for a year due to RL, and HB has admitted himself that he can't remember much and that he played a minor part around then.

But please, fill in any missing blanks.

I was also active in the old forums, but that doesn't meen I can recall the history. I have some memories of the Tyr incident, wich shouldn't be stated in a Wiki, and some minor mods like DMC, Roma and Imperator but it is hard to know what deserves a place in the Wiki, I don't know if people wants to know that the Sarmatarians were pwning the world in 6.2 and that the Germans (units) were added in 6.3

then someone brought him back(you can still see the dev access in his profile) and is now still logging in here and posting so a PM could work.
, Brusilov hasn't been active for a year due to RL,
go to the rs sub-forum and see how many of the posts of the last 24 hours there are his.
and HB has admitted himself that he can't remember much and that he played a minor part around then.
the first part is convenient I guess, but the last one is irrelevant when it comes to the public history of rtr.

lol - guys, let's not bust a nut over this. While it may be interesting to know what happened three or four years ago, I think that today's fans of RTR are more concerned with what we are doing now.
