Settings reverting back

So I have this slight problem
I want to change some NTW graphics settings...fine I do that and I do a custom battle and everything is smooth.

BUT! I had previously enabled the debug camera from the preferences file. When I go to options, it goes back to standard camera again.
So I exit NTW, change the Preferences file, restart NTW and I do a custom battle. Debug camera = OK, but no new graphical settings that I had enabled before exiting.

Is there a way to "save" the settings? Or "save" the preference file? Yes, I've tried Read Only

Do you set it read-only after you make your changes in the file manually? This is your best chance.

If you go into the options menu and change something N:TW will reset some settings to the default.

If you've changed the camera to the default setting - don't use the options menu to make any changes. All changes there can be made in the file.
