    Default Problem checking steam application.

Hello. I would like to thank the developers of this mod for putting so much time and effort into it.

Now, onto my problem: I followed the instructions for installing with Steam to a T. I know that the little code I typed in there is for "ROMAN CAMPAIGN" only, so I selected Rome in the launcher and said "yes" to the "Do you have Steam?" question and all that jazz.

When I press play, a little drum roll plays and a black box with a bunch of code in it pops up along with an error: "Problem checking Steam application." That's it. I'm sure a solution was already posted and I just didnt look hard enough for it.

Of course I will now supply the information that you desire (to the best of my ability).

    Windows 7
    Rome Total War Gold
    Yes
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\rome total war gold
RomeTW-BI ( I tried it with just RomeTW but got a "This game is currently unavailable" message.

    Thank you for your time.

P.S. I also tried that "Install RS2 into a folder on your desktop and cut and paste its contents into your RTW folder" thing. I got the same result.

    Holding out for Galatia!

You can't launch the game with Steam through the launcher.

You need to launch RS II through steam. Make all the changes you want to in the laucher, and then press "save". Exit the launcher. Go into your games library in Steam, and launch Alex from there.

    That works for me.
