That's right a cheap 4gig SSD (ram disk) for $0.00.

First you will need to download Ramdisk.

    http://memory.dataram.com/products-a...wnload-ramdisk

    Dataram_RAMDisk_V3.5.130RC13a <-----Direct Link

Dataram RAMDisk - Windows 7, Windows Vista, XP, Server

Dataram RAMDisk is compatible with all versions of Windows 7, Windows Vista (x86 and x64), Windows XP (x86 and x64), all editions of Windows Server 2003 (x86 and x64), all editions of Windows server 2008 (x86 and x64). Dataram RAMDisk is freeware (up to 4 GB disk size). Disks larger than 4 GB require registration

Registration and license are not required for disks under 4 GB. Version 3.5.130RC13a

    Once installed.

open up ramdisk GUI located C:\Program Files (x86)\RAMDisk or start Dataram RAMDisk - RAMDisk Configuration Utility.

    Example Config

    ^^^2 Gig allucated

^^^ Notice the options to save your RamDisk to HHD as a Image File (optional)

    Benchmark Example of my RamDisk
Please Note that Read and Write Speed will be Different, due to your Ram Speed/Timings.

    Uses

    +Internet Exploer Temp files
    +PageFile (not tested)
+Working Drive before saving data to your HDD :- IE Adobe or general file editing.
Cutting down the wear and tear on HDD/SSD
    +File Downloading
    General gamming
    +Video and Picture Capturing
    *Music and Video playing.

    Key

*Configue Ramdisk to use Image, and save now. So music so you dont have to copy the files into the ramdisk ever time you boot up. If Image Disk Disabled all data on the Ramdisk will be wiped when you reboot.(phew no Cleanup)

    +Reduces Defragmentaion

    End Result

    Anyhoo, enjoy

Allocated 4092 mb of ram to the ram drive.

Added a 2GB Page file for gaming to the ram drive, (saved an image file) so the data is loaded in from cold boot.

got just under 2GB for Internet browsing, frap`s snapshots and anything else for a working environment.

    Example Pics

    Final Conclusion

it does seem to be an answer to, "the lazy man`s guide to not defragging so often."
Whilst getting better performance, but this depends on your memory speed`s and timings.
Web Browser does indeed seem faster, but is still tide to "Internet traffic", and its weird not hearing the HD

    Gaming well, still testing.

Anyhoo I've done my geek experiment for the week
