My computer picked up a nasty virus last week... rendered the whole thing useless. Considering I did not have a good restore point, I decided to reinstall Vista 64.
The reinstall went perfectly fine, but now - after installing and updating all the drivers and windows updates, it is running like absolute crap!
I never had problem with Vista 64 (so plz dont resort for me to get a new OS - infact this was my 1st reinstall in over 2 years!!!). My computer, up until being infected last week was perfect!
Here are my specs:
E8400
EVGA 780i
EVGA Gtx 260
8g Ram
Vista Home Premium 64bit
I have no clue what could be the problem. I am at the point where I would like to delet my old.windows files, but I have not reached stability yet. All of my pictures and music was saved to an external HD so I really dont care about saving anything... and now am wondering how can I completely reinstall vista so that it runs properly?
Here are some of the problems that I am having:
- Glitchy games
- When I select IE it takes forever to start up (but once it is up and running, it is usually ok)
- I get NonResponsive often when just selecting things on windows (for example, my computer, control panel, pictures, etc)
- very slow start up
- very slow everything!!!
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
