Will the Kantakouzenoi ever be playable? I want to wipe out the Palaiologoi usurpers!

Edit: Just read earlier comments. My fingers and toes are crossed and I hope they become playable in some fashion at some point! Perhaps a faction swap mechanic could be applied somehow? Maybe saomething similar to the way Roman Surrectum II handles things?

You can make them playable by editing the usual campaign file ( like in vanilla)
They already have some unike scripts but the lack in some areas

If you're referring to the music in my music mod, it's a mix of different things. One is a recording of a Cherubic hymn as chanted in Hagia Sophia, another is a recording of a Bulgarian chant by Koukouzelis, and another one is chanting from a Serbian Monastery.

I would like two things if of course possible. To change the name of Țara Rumânească to Țara Muntenească and also change the wallachian name to Roman.

No. This is a historical mod so we will keep the accurate historical name of the faction as Țeara Rumânească which is the recorded historical name in Neacsu's letter. An alternative would have been Vlaskoe Zemlia which was the slavonic equivalent.

Mircea Dogaru is not a serious historian by any stretch of the imagination. He is not interested in history but rather just in nationalistic rhetoric and ideology.

Here we are only interested in objective history. If you are interested in serious Romanian historians I would suggest reading the books of expert medievalists such as Marian Coman, Constantin Rezachevici, Florin Curta or Victor Spinei.

I would suggest reading Marian Coman 'Putere si teritoriu. Tara Romaneasca medievala (secolele XIV-XVI)' for a good explanation of nomenclature. Marian Coman has gone over all of the 3,000 chancellery documents ever emitted by the Wallachian court between the XIV-XVI century.

    Default Issues on Tsaardom

    Hello Guys,

I write this message for a friend of mine that has not a TWC account.

Basically, he has the steam version and when he tried to start tsardom he got vanilla medieval 2.

    now:

-he has followed the instructions on the post regarding the steam version.

but the mod still doesn't work.

He tried to launch the mod with the file batch and with a general steam launch.

I do know what to advise him to do...

    do you have any suggestions?

    Thanks for your needed help!

The best option for steam is to follow the instructions in the Campaign launch thread on the forum here. It explains that he needs to go to Steam and go to Set Launch options and put the path of Tsardoms 1.4 there.

Impressive mod with decent artwork and details, in the first place I must congratulate the developers.

but, so far as i have played with the Ottomans, i realized that certain historical scripts do not fit the reality. For instance Bayezid I appears, yet not Murad I's son, as another adopted general's.

another problem is concerned with the battle editor. the historical setting of the mod is famous for (two) battles of Kosovo, Varna, Mohacz etc. As i downloaded the mod, my chief aim was to re-enact these battles via the editor, rather than solely playing the campaign but even if i can set the armies for regarding factions, it is impossible to set alliances and victory conditions on the editor. I appreciate any solution to this problem.

This is not possible in the medieval 2 engine. Any spawned character will appear randomly in the family tree, there is control where he appears.

Do you mean the custom battle editor? We do not have any experience with this.

I would say keep that alliance but now keep Ottomans in Anatolia and conquer Bulgaria
And keep your border settlements well garrisoned, ai rarely attacks well garrisoned settlements

I mean the battle editor which is available in the options section in the main menu after entering
    '' [features]
    editor=true''
    in the medieval2.preferences file.
