Request for modding help: Girls in TTA,

Right I would like to create a female general sub mod, I would like at least four people to HELP, since I have NO experience with modding or the GAME to be frank, (Damn-in Vista/Mothers!) I know, I'm crazy.

So would any one like (and is mad enough) to help me in say six months?

BTW I have no idea what I need to do so people with experience with modding will get Rep Bribes!

With the exception that you never said anything about help, you expressed it fine. Other people just could not read.

Alas I am no good at what you need, but I will remind you that you need modellers, and good ways around the main problems (which if you look back at your failed thread you'll find are listed there).

It is possible to avoid the marriage thing, if you make the "female" general start old enough to not get married (and increase the age limit too, of course). And there also is a way to limit the chances of other generals getting this one female name, by increasing the pool of names of the faction in descr_names. (There already are names that normal generals are not supposed to get anyway, like Treebeard or Witch-king or Akhôrahil the Blind Sorcerer ect.. one more wont hurt.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the ugly trait make the General harder to marry or something like that. So you can make a trait for the female general like ugly, but on a much bigger scale, so It is a lot harder for the female general to get married.

If you would make a new faction (which, of course, wouldn't show up anywhere) but have female names for characters, and then use scripts to marry them into the family tree. This is, perhaps, possible by re-introducing princesses (hang on, I'm not done yet!) but only for Elfs and Men. Since those two races can have kids together and all the other stuff it would work fine.

And perhaps this all isn't even necessary. In Rohan lived a boy called Haleth IIRC.

Well, I think that wife could be edited to say partner, and I'm hoping that we might be able to find a way to work around marriages, (Maybe we just found one!) that name thing, is something of a issue, but maybe some peeps won't mind changing the name, which I think you can do, with the shell thingummyjig.

At the leaset we could add Some female models to lead the army for a bit of flavor (Custom battle), but still I'd like to try.

If you bribe generals to join your faction do they bring their own names without adding them to the list of future names?

Is there someway to make (say) Galadriel a "bribed in" General so her name ain't on the random name list?

I guess her name would have to be on someone's list though, maybe the Dark Lords would do because you never see him.

I think the dead wife option is the best one to block lore-tricky same-sex marriages...(yes I know there's an argument Gimli was allowed into Valinor as a spouse but its not really stated)

Surely there is a condition that could be added to traits, "and not character_name "Éowyn". (I have no idea how traits work, it was just a speculation).

Battle Speeches can be skipped, it's not like their jaws move, maybe her banner carrier is throwing his voice and Éowyn is merely doing the actions.

Éowyn was chosen as a random female name btw.

Hyper-sexualised traits are probably not very lore-compatible in TATW, so maybe they could be combed out?

I guess there's the danger of PC blanding the traits and ancillaries to the point that the deliver no flavour, so I'm not advocating replacing skilled courtesan with "experienced sex-worker". However courtesans, pederasts and sexual infidelity have no real place in JRRT's world, so if they were combed out to allow a "female general mod" I daresay the lore would not be harmed.

Adding Princesses would probably be a more workable project. It would be nice if you could grant them some extra abilities though, such as Spies and Assassins have.

It was decided already in the beginning of this project that princesses would be left out of the mod. Imagine Elven princess marrying faction heir of Mordor... Besides, princesses are pointless agents, you can do pretty much everything with diplomats.

They are only good for creating strong alliances through marriage. Since this mod has unbreakable alliances, they are not needed.
