Empire: Total War has stopped working

Ok, i just got a new computer. Windows seven 64 bit. AMD Phenom quad core 2.0 GHz. 4 GB of ram, and ATI Radeon 512 MB 5470 graphics. I installed Empire and played it once. it worked fine on highest settings. when i tried to play again i got the title message a few seconds after the first screen came up.
I have tried reinstalling the game and steam multiple times. I have seen this issue on many different web sites, but no solutions, just people saying its just the game. Well it did work, and i have played my copy of it on different computers, so why did it stop?

Delete the clienregistry.blob inthe Steam folder and try it.

How would i do that? every time steam is open it creates the file again, and you need steam open to play the game

Log into Steam and set it offline mode.

I had the same problem, and offline didnt help. I just installed DMUC's latest verison then played with that for a bit, then unistalled it. It, for some reason, worked...other than that...I have no clue and am trying to either find a reason to blame steam or maybe the game became corrupted.

i put it in offline mode, and started the game, on start clientregistrey.blob is recreated

It's supposed to be recreated. It's all your Steam info. In offline mode, you should be able to play, anyway, to my way of thinking. Can you play in offline mode?

No, its the same problem even if in offline mode. Ill try the darth mod and see if that works

I downloaded the darth mod, It works. I dont know what is wrong with the game, but Dmuc is great. Thanks for the help
