downgrading RTW 1.5, is it possible?

I would like to ask if anyone knows if rome total war can be downgraded from 1.5 to 1.2. The reason I'm asking this is because there are some interesting mods working with the 1.2 patch so I would like to give them a try. But I'm not sure what to do because I have the Creative Assembly's Rome Total War version that is already patched to 1.5. Should I downgrade the game first to 1.3 and then to 1.2? Directly to 1.2? Another strange thing happening is that I've got Barbarian Invasion add on that patches the game to 1.4 and when I run it it plays perfectly.

Is it due to the different exe provided? Can anyone please help me?

The downgrade available is to reinstall. There is no uninstall for the imdividual patches.

Irishron forgive me for my ignorance but how can I reinstall a rome total war 1.5 version to make it a 1.2 version game that plays without any problems? I've got the 1.2 zipped patch, so should I overwrite the extracted data over the data of my 1.5 game, would that work?

no, he means you need to uninstall RTW and then patch to 1.2

But I've got Creative's Assembly copy that already patches it to 1.5, so would the solution -only- be to buy an Activision's copy that has the game's unpatched version and then patch it to 1.1,1.2,1.3 or whichever version I want to?

Are you telling me it does not just install1.0 and each patch as you say yes to the prompts? Is it the dvd version? Can you explore the disc and see if there is a setup.exe each step of the way instead of autorun? I have the original 3-cd set so I have to ask questions.

Irishron I've got the dvd version that CA published and not the 3 cds version of activision, that is why my game is patched to 1.5 already, any ideas?

Irishron, what he means is:

His disc is one disc that automatically patches to 1.5(The CA version)
You're talking about the Activision version

Vladimir that's what I am exactly saying, and I'm afraid that I do have to buy the Activision game in order to patch it up to 1.2, the exploration that Irishron suggested is another idea, but I'm not quite positive that it will work, I'll give it a try though, thank you all for the help so far, vladimir, leonidas and irishron it's been illuminating

I've already ordered a Rome total war copy, the 3 cds version, not the dvd-rom one of CA and soon I will be playing all the mods that need to be patched to 1.2 version

If you have RTW patched to 1.5 it's possible to apply the 1.2 patch. However, the game will not launch with the RTW disc you have....

I didn't look in the registry to see if this could be changed or not.

Make sure that you clean the registry before starting to install the 3 CD-ROM version. I didn't think that was sold anymore.
