    Default what version??

    how do i know which version of RTW i have. i think its 1.2 but i'm not sure. does anyone know how to find out?

    One way to do it is go to your install of RTW through Windows Explorer and open up the "version.inf" file. Once that is open just look for the value after "ExtVersion=" and that's your version of RTW. The default install for RTW is C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War

    Oh, and if that file doesn't exist, then your version is either 1.0 or 1.1

    That file doesn't exist with 1.0 and I can't remember if it was added by 1.1 or not. Either way, you can install the 1.2 patch safely (since it patches both 1.0 and 1.1).

    just go into the game click on options and the version should appear in the corner
