If you elect to change the destination folder a window will appear that allows you to select the correct path. Once you've done that press the 'OK' button.

The original screen with the location of the folder to install RSII will now be redisplayed with the changed folder. If the details are correct press 'Next' otherwise press 'Browse' or 'Cancel'.

    I installed it into the "Creative Assembly" folder, didn't work, so I installed it into the "Rome Total War" folder, and it worked, but not very well. What happened was that a message popped up 2-3 times with the number "12" and some sort of error, then it asked if i had chosen my faction, and then it got me to the Roma Surrectum campaign page;
...unfortunately, I can't get into any campaigns, can't play any battle, it just shuts down.
My question is, where should I install RS2? Should I make a seperate foulder in the RTW foulder? Will it work? please help

What is advised is that you install a totally clean version of RTW then you copy this file onto your destop and name is RS2, once done install the downloads into there.

Installing it into the program files has seemed to cause some problems i think, hopefully this will help. so when you do install just pick this file on your desktop and follow the same steps.

I think im right in saying this anyway

You say "this file", what is "this file"? SO I should make a "New Folder" and name it RS2, and then install that into that folder? Ok thats brilliantly easy, except that the game isn't in the RTW folder, which also apparently is a problem... can someone explain, in detail, where I should install. I have a clean version and everything of RTW, i just need to know where to install RS2, because as of now its extremely confusing.

Should I make an RS2 folder and install the instaler into this folder, but place the folder into the Rome Programs Folder... will that even work?

Error : You are able to play the game, but a window with a red cross and 12 appears.
Solution : You don't have admin rights. Right click on the shortcut and then click Run as Admin, a permanent fix is to go into properties and have the launcher autimatically ask for adminastation right.
Try that, and tell us how it goes :]

And if that doesnt help, then you need to do this:

    1) Uninstall RTW completely, and delete all the files.
    2) Create a folder in C:\ called RS2 (making the folder C:\RS2)
    3) Install RTW there.
    4) Patch it right up
    5) Install RS2

Yes install your rome as you would in the C:/, all of them, so BI and Alex if you have it as normal.

    For example:

Install rome in a file C:/Rome
Then select this same path with the BI install
and then finally select this path with the RSII installation.

Ye its worth a try if nothing else is working! im afraid i dont know much, just a beta tester, but i know that this has caused problems and since you havent installed in a folder outside of the program files this could be what is causing the problem.

    Edit:

and yep you can do it in C:/ also as long as it is out of the C:/programs/ then it should be ok. i just put it on the desktop so i can easily access it because im lazy

    Oh boy... its never ending

So I installed Rome and BI into a seperate folder on my desktop, installed RS2 into that... and the same problems persist... Should I Install Rome and BI normally, copy them into a folder on my desktop, and install RS2 into that? because I installed directly into a folder on my desktop and it doesn't work... campaigns, battles, nothing, same problems as before.

    Yes....

But if it doesnt work this time i dont know what else you can do, can you take screenshots of your rs2 folder so i can see how it looks please.

and if it doesnt work then i would assume your downloads are corrupt but would just like to see your folder just to have another closer look and see everything is how it should be as it is hard to get to grip to things without seeing a pic.
