Better units mod for vanilla

Lately I have been playing vanilla v1.3, it's a refreshing change to all the stressful mods that cripple your income/throw massive stacks at you etc etc. Anyway there is one problem... the units look crappy compared to mods like BC or TA so I was wondering if there was a mod which replaces vanilla units with better looking ones, without interfering with the game itself

Unfortunately i haven't seen any mod that replaces only the vanilla units and i think the closet u can get is KGCM.

After KGCM is installed you can use the campaign and battle AI of vanilla to play the game at vanilla pace.

On page 1 of Mod Questions and Recommendations Here giorgos makes some good suggestions... however his post is 3 years old so I was wondering if anything new had come out.
