Hi guys. I got another question to ask. While I'm conquering my Roman enemy the Venice is attacking me. How can I handle my states without having to put every of my general in every of my castle ? is there any method to defend my castle ? Thanks![]()

Turn auto-manage settlements off.
There is an in-game box in each settlement scroll and you can turn it off permanently via the options or when you start a campaign.
Also, after conquering a city, consolidate your gains. Perhaps hire some Mercs to garrison your city and recruit some mediocre but low upkeep troops whilst you consolidate your gains. Once you are done, move your main army out and as the threat recedes from that settlement, you can disperse its men to garrison other settlements or join the standing army. You might also want to disband the mercs if you recruited them.
Where can I buy merchants ? I can only buy Priest and Spy.
Build a Grain Exchange in City Category settlements, eg. Small Towns, Towns, Large Towns, Small City, City, Large City and Huge City.
Merchants cannot be recruited in Castle Category settlements, eg. Motte and Bailey, Wooden Castle, Castle, Fortress, Citadel.
The amount of merchants that can be recruited depends on the amount of Grain Exchanges you have across your nation.
Try reading one of the awesome guides that are dotted about TWCenter. They're quite lengthy and detailed, but i seriously reccommend having a read through them - especially areas that you are less confident in! For example I like to think my campaign play is pretty damn good, but I often have a look at the game guides that deal with the actual battles, because I'm not as good at those.
Thanks for the tips Valandur and modog. I'm running my campaign quite successfully.![]()
Guys I got another problem. How can I eliminate my enemy merchants ? they're controlling over my trade source and my merchants can't do anything with it. Can I attack it ?
Yes u can attack them by your merchants which is called acquisition in game or use assassins to eliminate them. Note acquisition gives u profit.![]()
200 años de Libertad! Viva Mexico!
well i don't like to risk them, but sometimes the best form of defence really is attack. If you can get a couple of acquisitions successfully under a merchant's belt in the first few turns of his career, he'll probably gain enough finance points to be left alone by his rivals. You'd only need to look out for monster merchants, and they'll be too busy pouncing on easy pickings like 1 + 2 level merchants, or sitting generating crap loads of florins from high-value trade resources.
u can also move a unit on the resource and force the merchent to move

all hail the mighty money cheat
Really?...really?!?!?! How do you not know the basics of the game?
Merchants? just dont use them because the AI-merchant usely pwns you
