Ok but you're being quite technical here and the difference between suggesting more/less spikes/feathers and asking for absence/presence of mail/plate may not be so obvious to others.

I was just trying to correct a perceived misunderstanding. Didn't want Ellin to think you were scolding him for no reason.

No problem, I included him in MEE so the code is ready.

If I remember correctly, FXR had a quite nice and highly detailed Cirdan head model. Perhaps you could drop him a message and see about incorporating a Cirdan model.

@matter concerning lore supremacy against individual creativity....
Well we have an issue on our hands.....
I do feel myself that lore should be the general guide of unit making for such a mod,
but when this is cutting off the chances of producing something aesthetically fine, then
lore should be taken under consideration but imagination should also be let somehow free....

However i have to say that there are limitations of the freedom granted to imagination
cause otherwise, what would be a difference between a BFME and TATW mod....
The polemic against BFME arose due to this very fact!It didnt took lore serious and it just used it as an
initial idea-concept....enriching it with totaly un-realistic and un-accurate to lore additions.....

I myself consider LL's work one of the best skining works around....and i do trust that the result
will be a satisfying one , even if not totaly lore accurate....
BUT(i know there is allways one of that coming around the corner)
i couldnt say myself what i would do while "walking in his shoes"....
Thats why a mod under develepoment that is aiming to integrate units needs to have some
    lore advisors imho....
Modelers and skinners usualy tend to exagerrate in order to deliver the best possible visual outcome
--a fact that is totaly fine with me since this effort includes
much time and creativity put into
---(an exagerration that even the one writting this has not avoided sometimes)

but is that all we should aim to???
I mean ok We are not talking about facts that will guide us through , as in history based mods( e.g.when making a medieval
byzantine kataphract unit u need to take the sources under serious consideration, otherwise u ll be wrong obviously)

but could this also be applied onto this situation?.....
I say yes....and furthermore Allways Use lore as a reference, also Allways use the imagination to fill gaps that arent described....
...but do so in equal doses
so that none will be harmed.....neither lore nor you aesthetics.....that is my oppinion!

He is the oldest elf left in middle earth. He came on the first ships of the elves to middle earth and is the leader of Mithlond or something

Well actually he never left Middle-earth, he was one of those Teleri who stayed behind when Thingol was wandering in the forests with Melian because they didn't want to leave their leader.

@Varjon, Cirdan is absent in any of the vanilla mod versions I have played

For the else, I agree mostly with Koul and JAL.
Lore is in some parts useful enoguh, as it describes a lot on armours and apearance, but else u have to make up on your own. This procedure I call "cretive lorefiction", and I try always to have a stable base of lore on which to it can be expanded. To be honest, in my version most of WETA's deigns are rejected, but I don't think I have a legitimate word or right in this redevelopment

Overall, I'm intrigued to see what will come out of this task, as most of the people posting here, either praising or criticising, or else they wouldn't do so.

    regards,

Louis, are you also considering to split up the Silvan Elves into Lothlorien and Greenwood or is this only meant as a unit overhaul mod?

    I liked the concept drawings.

I won't be splitting the factions.

I do have lore advisors, JAL has been helping me since the beginning (the three new unique units were his idea) and to a lesser degree Aikanár who I've worked with in the ME lore mod.

BFME made inventions that were neither supported by lore, logic or the movies. This mod is completely based in the military representation of the movies, and expanded on it like the Rhûn faction.

So, this is not a lore vs personal preferences debate but a question on the general guidelines ruling this mod.

Hi LL, I was wondering if you had given any thought to re-skinning the Elvish diplomat strat models? I had a go myself but it didn't turn out so good.

Impressive and very elegant. Though there is the question of the practicality of those plates that are substitute for a chamfrôn, since it looks like they might actually cut the animal when it moves.

I'm not that happy with the horse armor, so it will probably change in the final unit.
