Default Any documentary on the late Roman army?

I was wondering if anyone know about any documentary on the late Roman army?

I'm not talking about a documentary about the military events that happened during the late Empire, but a documentary that discuss about the overall composition of the army, the armour and weapons used by the army and the overall effectiveness of the Late Roman army.

The best way to do this is to lobby someone like the 'History Channel' to commission a documentary on the Battle of Adrianopolis. TV companies love anything to do with Romans, and especially if it involves Romans who bravely fight to the last man!

But would they even bother to ensure that the Romans wore the right sort of armour?

They did make a good attempt in that doco drama on Constantine. Maybe not perfect but pretty good.

It's quite nice to see a documentary that attempts to ensure that the late Roman army are correctly dressed. Sadly, it doesn't mention why the late Roman army changed its armour and weapon, as it is more focused on the life of the Roman Emperor than the army itself.

The series on 'Great Commanders', featured Alexander. It was extremely well made, it was authentic in practically every detail, armour weapons and the actors even spoke Greek and Persian! So, yes, if the documentary makers are willing to put the effort in then it certainly can be done.

The documentary "Ancients behaving badly" was mostly animated, but they got the late roman armor and other things right in their one on attila the hun.
