So feel free to Let loose on all things you know how to do or share what to do in an English Campaign! =)

Well I just started my first English campaign ever. I've avoided them for so long because they seemed by far the easiest faction but I'm running out of factions I haven't played yet(Kievan Rus, Fatimids, Papal States, French, Castile only ones left).

Anyway... with the starting armies it is entirely possible for England to go right for Scotland but I preferred to let the Scottish make the first move. I garrisoned York well and put generals in optimal places while sending a 3/4 stack to capture all nearby rebels. By turn 14 rebels were defeated and trade with everyone nearby and initial economic buildings were in place and not much left to do except attack Scotland as they were refusing to make the first move.

I saved in case I ever want to return and let Scotland grow but since they have only 3 regions and England is able to empty most garrisons to attack quite safely Scotland fell in 3 turns once forces were positioned properly on turn 18. Would have been 2 turns but general got sick and had -movement trait so barely was unable to attack the northernmost Scottish region. 21 turns and isles secure and France or Norway the next easy victims as they can't defend their coastal regions.

Probably could do it faster if go for Scotland right away but eh- be a long time before I play England again as it proved to be even less of a challenge than I'd thought.

The main thing is England oddly enough starts quite rich- able to supply all its starting armies with leftover income even when those armies aren't all using free garrisons.

I would reduce many of its regions population quite a bit and lower London's starting buildings. In 1100 England was quite undeveloped relative to other Feudal Kingdoms and still recovering from the Vikings and Norman conquest. Norman centralization and relative peace and expanding settlement made easier with warmer climate led to a population boom that led to about 6 million population before the plague.

Compare England's population at 1086 of roughly 1.2 million based on Doomsday book and modern archeology identifying settlements + perhaps 1 million more in Scotland, Wales and Ireland against medieval France which had less land area than modern France but an estimated between 15-20 million population or Genoa(not including territories outside Italy) had around 1 million.

Ideea is England is the most KISS faction in all game. Huge advantages, easy to manage in late and early, cheap longbows, good infantry, what is the problem? Eliminate scotts?
Maybe you do this explaining like a tutorial, but who played vanilla have an ideea how to win with english.
Maybe is a place for Byzantine late campaign here, Lituania, Turks, Persians and Crusader States. Because there is need real advices.
If I disturb your topic with this, I am sorry. I will stop trolling right now.

Thank you for stoping your trolling, but you have to understand, your not the only guy in the boat. Sometimes noobs need help, sometimes masters have fun RP an english campaign, and some people just like to have a nice pass time without major headaches, if your disturbed by this topic, for whatever chilling reason, should of just left it alone, and not of posted, but i understand that you'll stop, and im glad this wont turn into ha flam war =)

Have fun with the Byzantium and trying to reunite rome =0

Yeah, Once you got all of Britian, and pumping out all that cash, you'll notice that the Danish are still making loads of cash too, and sometime even more than you. So instead of letting have there money and joy, I Blitzcreig Denmark and let them mave some crappy regions in Sweeden, and then vassle/trade with them. I nevel like killing bog nations 100% because 1 its kinda unhistorical, and 2 most inportinatly, one less trading partner.... Remember your playing as the brittish =)

Going to try if waiting for the Scots to build up around 15+ turns actually makes a difference. If you attack them by turn 7 they make a 3/4 stack of highland archers and rabble... and it would be more fun to have a stronger arch enemy =p. Also planning to do a little tutorial on how to play the english campaign for some people wants a guideline.
