Default Game just dies in battles...

I have the following system specs:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp.080413-2111)
Processor: Intel Pentium III (4 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
    Memory: 3072MB RAM
Page File: 1078MB used, 3878MB available
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTS250 (1024MB)

Step one: Installed RTW with 1.5 clean.
Step two: Installed Roma Surrectum II straight into the RTW main directory.
Step three: Ran the launcher. It has no text in it, although this I have been able to work around.
Step four: Started a custom battle just to try it out, and I figured that with my specs I should be able to use the bloom feature, however I changed my mind and deactivated it again.
Step five: The battle loads up alright, although I had like... 5 FPS. Then, as soon as I clicked "Start Deployment" the game just froze up and all these weird triangles showed up all over the screen (you've all seen it sometime, when graphics gets screwed into oblivion), so I had to ctrl+alt+del and exit the game.
Step six: Tried again and the same thing occured.

I don't think my card is broken, as I play ETW with DMUC 6.2 with all settings on max and NTW with ToonTotalWar with all settings on max, including unit sizes, with a smooth 45-55 FPS rating.

I can't see why. Tried reinstalling it two times now and the same problem occurs. Starting to think my graphics card doesen't support this mod, which I think is a tad weird, as I played Roma Surrectum I with maxed up settings without problems.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

Have a read of this thread and try the solutions there:

Did you select hi-resolution vegetation in the launcher? I suspect that this may be your problem as you've got a much better system than I've got.
