Regarding these laptops what bad times have you actually had ?

    In general ?????

This is a newer model and comes with up to 2 years warranty if it breaks im sure the people where you bought it may repair for nothing or a small fee for delivering the machine back to its distributor.

Since you obviously know your stuff, go buy this marvel of a gaming machine!

Seriously though, it kinda sucks for gaming. And its Toshiba, I've had some bad experiences with Toshiba satellites.

the build quality is meh, my sister broke 3 hds while she had hers, and the fan just stopped working, yes the heatsink was a goner, and so the pc. the screen is terrible. the sound controller broke... and it goes

I would recommend the acer 3820tg as I said in the other thread

A certain school in my city acquired 20 Toshiba satellites.

Within a year, each and everyone of them were sent back for repairs. They would froze up and windows wouldn't even reinstall. Now the thing is that if this kind of stuff happens I can only make a conclusion that the quality of that product is atrocious. Ok, they were older budget models but still, I wouldn't buy Toshiba.

    or

    http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ASUS_...2V/version.asp

The top one is significantly more powerful but a fair bit extra, Asus laptops are well renowned for having extreamly low failure rates and considering they build the units for many other laptop manufactures there isnt much of a reason to go to anyone else.

I have always used Asus notebooks, not one has failed and i have a few friends who also use them and have also never had one fail.

The only thing I would think about is no one has seen shogun 2's requirments as far as I am aware, though they are both very good laptops don't be dissapointed if they can't reach the settings you want.

the only good notebook i see in there is the X64

the N52 has a low end GPU from Nvidia

And I would still search for the envy 15 its lighter has better build and a much better GPU

I would also look for the ACER 3820tg for its a 13'' with a punch, it has almost the same power as the X64, just slightly less , very slightly

I have a Sony Vaio FE41M (It can only play NTW on its lowest setting so it won't work well with Shogun 2) had it for 3 years and never had any problems with it, I would recommend the Vaio series. The web cam broke but that doesn't really matter because it was crap, recorded things at the wrong speed and mirrored. I love my Vaio lappy.

Oh yes, and I love the vaio Sz12, its downright gorgeous with a gt 330m and a i7 620m processor, all this in a 13'' package with the weight of 3lbs

the problem is that it costs 2000 bucks in US, I dont wanna even think of the price in Europe

This is way to hard to make my mind up ...............

Lets break this up a little how about high settings with shadows off ? LOL.

However im sure the ati 5470 packs a punch ?

I was going to go for alienware but im not keen i then went to dell and was put off then acer .... put off then ASUS and i was actually happy with there vast selection.

I was going to custom build one and it would be this as follows.................

    Intel I5
    6gb of ddr3
nvidia gt 320M or higher or ati 5470
    500gb HDD
    9 cell battery
    custom coolers
    extended slots for future upgrades.

However i do not know of anyone who can build laptops....... certainly not anyone local i know of but i may just phone up and ask if i can custom build an asus why the hell not right ?

    No it doesn't.

And never go alienware. Never. You'll just get ripped off.
