Default Overly Politicaly Correct Nonesense !!!

Here in the UK i have heard disturbing stories of shopping centres (Malls to you Americans) not being allowed to have Christmas decorations up as it "offends ethnic minorites", also you apperntly need a permit to fly the english flag, or the Union Jack and on St Georges Day many places chose not to fly it incase it offended "ethnic minorites" recently some labour party nitwit has condemend English fans from carry the english flag at sports venues saying that it causes problems
Since when did pride in ones country cause problems, and why should a christain country, founded on christina values have to change its practises for ethnic minroties, i fully support the measures in place to allow muslims to celebrate Ramadam (sorrry if i spelt that wrong ) and i am by no means rascist so i hope this doesnt come across as such !!! ) it seems that the majority of people are getting pushed further and furtherback with no comproise at all why cant we all just get along without people getting offended i mean jesus !!

Cradds I hear ya man. Yea this dose suck a lot. I used to say and some times still do that America is the only place were the majority is the minority and vice versa. But I guess we are not the only one. But we haven’t gotten that bad. At least not yet. But yea Ya cant fly your own Union Jack that’s over kill. Can you fly the other flags? Ireland, Scotland, Wales. Or are they too band? But in all do respect my dear friend. A recent poll showed that the numbers of believing Christens in England have dropped dramatically. So I guess many don’t really care anymore. But the last British guy I talked to said that Y’all were very proud of your heritage and wouldn’t let the attack break your spirit.
O and you will always offend someone no matter what ya do. In fact I know that my post will offend someone even tho its not meant to.

I think a lot of these stories are exagerated or even are outright lies.

PC, though, is becoming a problem in that, at least, the perception is that the indiginous culture is becoming marginalised. THere's a thread about this already.

Yeah you're right it doesn't make sense. Given that all of those things have the same amount of proof, none, anyone who believes in one of them has to believe in all of them, obviously.

Cradds i agree with you. Why can't you show your support. And not flying your own flag, what kind of crap is that? Its the same in America with us not being able to have basically anything religious in achools and other public places. And why do people have the option of not sying the pledge of allegiance in school ? Have a problem with america, dont f'ing live here, we wont miss you. Thats my piece Hate it or Love it, Its pretty damn true.

    ummm....how about no?

Just because someone doesn't like to pledge their unconditional allegiance to a flag and the republic for which it stands, doesn't mean they "have a problem with america" or hate america, or even that they're unpatriotic. You see, pledging your allegiance to something unconditionally discourages free thought and your ability to make decisions based on facts and logic. Besides, if you really love america, you shouldn't have to prove it by pledging every day, should you?

What about Goblins, huh? Doesn't anybody believe in Goblins? You never hear about this. Except on Halloween and then it's all negative ****. And what about Zombies? You never hear from Zombies! That's the trouble with Zombies, they're unreliable! I say if you're going to go for the Angel bull**** you might as well go for the Zombie package as well.

Excuse me but you have two minutes Get your  together ! (carlin refrence)

As for the topic, political corectness is just plain idiotic. Its a good idea in a way, because yelling to the familly "hey guys the Chinks is here" (As my father used to do) because it would **** off the chinese take out guy. But when it gets to the point where you cant display your flag or christmas decorations its just plain stupid.

I agree with tou shadow, i wish GB had an oath of allegiance, because it seemed like a good thing to encourage patriotism, but it seems prehaps it isn't working that well if people can opt out ? 1{H][NA i totally agree PC in any work place, or in any proffesional envrioment is getting out of hand, but why has it gotten to be like this ?!, and confederate solider i didnt know things where bad In USA i also assumed it was our poxy labour goverment doing it to us !? I also have alot of pride in my country, and am proud to declare myself a patriot, a value which seems to offend people and be looked down on, well im sorry if it wasnt for patriots we'd all be speaking German and have given up along time ago! It seems many British people are determined not to be broke by these attacks, but the goverment our country has decided to return is not only broken but well under the thumb !

patriotism? people can be patriotic without being rabid. And the carrying of flags to football matches does cause problems, although it does help... it makes foreign police have easier jobs identifying rioters after a match.

PC began not under this government but before; it has been extended of course, but the basic idea was to avoid offence... or do you think its a good idea that we can call people ******s? Or whatever.

Patriotism is, as I say, not dead, where did you get that idea? If patriotism was dead people wouldn't care about what the government did in their name and in the name of their country; patriotism is about letting people know you disagree with the government, not about agreeing with it!

PC is nothing to do with patriotism in fact, unless you think racism and sexism are patriotic; the various shopping centre regulations are actually internal and not enforced etc.

Carrying a flag signifies you're going to riot? What the hell is wrong with your country?

No, only when you're at a football match; seriously, the fans are diehard, literally.

Yes, its gone over the mark, but this isn't the government, this is people taking it upon themselves to do this; self-infliction, not governmental interference, so get the culprit right.
