Most obvious, the orange plague of Maratha moving through india before settling in Russia. They rarely seem to attack any other nations after that, most surprisingly the ottomans.

Austria nearly always has its lands eaten from all sides.

USA has never up risen taking over north America with out me first destroying England’s home regions. They do usually pop up but just sit there or die form the unfriendly neighborhood.

Somehow England and Spain get control of their protectorates in America within about 10years of starting without doing the missions.

This happens rarely but is worth adding. Enemy reinforcements spawn right behind your lines in land battles screwing everything up.

I find that the Marathas after conquering India, will randomly send a fleet to one of my American colonies so I've taken to making an alliance with them before they wipe out the Mughals. I'm starting to find that when playing as England, anyone and everyone declares war on the 13 Colonies.

I've also been wondering how England and Spain as AI get hold of their protectorates, anyone know?

Yes...the orange plague. Maratha really is the ONLY A.I. faction that spreads so consistently throughout all campaigns I have played. Prussia is also quite expansionist (mine pwned Poland and after Sweden had sucked up half of Russia, Prussia went to war with it and drove them off Russia, but now Prussia controls most Russian provinces)

Venice captured Rumelia in my 3rd (Austrian) campaign, and has even conquered French Guyana!

I wish CA has made Britain and France more determined to send out fleets to conquer India and also beefed up the Mughals a bit more. They're usually all but wiped out by 1715. Oh and Portugal also always gets pwned.

Marthas become god.

Portugal dies, spain conquors north africa (sometimes with a random minor nation ally, like savoy) and then proceeds to have such a crappy economy and education infrastructure that it just sits there for the next 50 years until you kill it. Then you conquor its provinces and find that nothing besides the first level of roads or farms has been made...good times.

Swedan takes Moscovy, then does frick-all nothing.

or...Russia beats swedan, then builds over 50 seminary's for no reason and becomes bankrupt. Or at least, hideously poor.

I always have Sweden take Moscow and beat them to 2 or 3 provinces. Then Russia fights back and gets to the starting position. It's slightly infuriating. :/

I just had an enemy cavalry unit come running right through one of my owned, controlled and closed wall doors while attacking my city. Never seen that before.

Random one-region states taking out bigger powers Like Westphalia taking Amsterdam, Wurttemburg/Savoy getting all of France, Portugal getting Spain, Cherokees killing the US, severely beaten Iroquois (they had one region and about 6 units total) destroying Quebec, Plains Nations pwning Mexico and making them a protectorate, Mysore getting all of southern India...

Savoy is a major candidate for alternate history, but its really quite realistic. Savoy was a major candidate in italy, and might very well have united the bloody thing following the whole carlos debacle.

That said, I almost always see major nations completly failing to make any form of economic infrastructure. They always have negative growth, very few buildings, and all that. Even the orange death does this, but manages to win because Mughals are utterly retarded.

One thing I noticed is the Maratha's dominating their homeland and spreading into russia. The Ottoman Empire grows rather large and the Prussians get beaten down by the Poles, but never destroyed. The Polish in my current campaign are the largest nation on the continent at current but can't seem to find a way to kill the Prussians that will defeat much larger polish armies at every engagement, but never succesfully conquer a region

I have never seen any nation destroy Sweden or attempt any sort of attack on their home ground. Also Sweden and Russia often declare war on each other resulting in neither taking any offensive action.

Saxony never survives very long unlike the other minor nations in the region like Hanover, Westphalia and Switzerland

Weird things go on in the Barbary states regions. All kinds of factions suddenly have their color painted across north Africa, which is especially annoying when your about to take all of England or Frances home theater regions and one more appears on the other side of the theater. Just about every game i play the barbaries are taken over by a distant enemy

Poland ALWAYS at war with Prussia and Austria, Prussia ALWAYS at war with Austria and Poland, Austria ALWAYS at war with Prussia and Poland. And one of them will get pwned (mostly Prussia or Austria, but if Poland is pwned they will never survive) and the rest will be pwned by me.

I always come up with an elaborate gameplan and then get to do precisely none of what I planned because I have to spend all my resources fighting random countries who declare war on me or my protectorates and then never make peace.
