Kingdoms battle difficulty

What's with the battle difficulty in Kingdoms expansion?

Very Hard makes your own units rout way too easily. I'm playing Brittania campaign and 1 unit of highlanders was routed by a unit of rebel peasants with no general. lol. I was fighting in the town center though and my general was fighting in the thick of things.

I don't mind a hard battle or some challenge, but not when 1 side routs first.

Is there a way to change this in an already in progress campaign?

Hi. Unfortunately there is no way to change the battle difficulty mid-game. Even changes made to descr_stat file would only apply in a new campaign.
It's a shame but you either start again, or continue playing on those settings.

Britannia campaign is the only one with the weird tweak in morale system...same regular starting base morale but the discipline is very low. So unit rout very quickly if they're hit with a morale check. That means even in medium mode if you loose your general or get flank they'll rout or chain rout almost as quick

The other 3 expansion don't seem to have it

U can always use the another BAI from the crusades or something when playing Britannia.

I went ahead and am trying it H/H as Scotland. We'll see how it goes. I really like the game to run in a more "simulation/realistic" mode. So I'm more of a M/H or H/H player.
