Alt Tab Option???

Just wondering whether RS2 (or for that matter, Rome TW itself) has the alt tab option.

I have Stainless Steel on Med2 and it works there and it was a good way to pass the time while your game was loading by doing something else!

Add -ne to the command line option in the launcher.

but don't try that if you've got bloom activated as I find that it then freezes on loading.

No wonder bloom doesn't work! I just thought a messed something up somehow.

If you alt tab whenever you are doing something, like loading the battle/campaign map, the game will crash when you try to reenter. What I do is I always open the menu by pressing escape and it is guaranteed to reopen.

You don't need to use the -ne (windowed mode) switch to 'fast tab' out of the game. I can do it fine without.

My launcher shortcut preferences is set to run in a normal window as well.

I had the same problems until i changed to the compatibility mode (Os: Win 7 , mode: xp servicepack 2). Then, alt tab. Sometimes,during a battle, after returning from windows, it has given me some minor failures. Like unit cards getting white... But it's usually gone after the battle. Nevertheless don't use it too much, everytime you alt tab it's like rolling some unseen dice (2d6, 2-10 fine, 11-12 CTD).

If I use windowed mode, how can I get it to run fullscreen again? I read it somewhere in the past, but I can't remember. I want to play like this because I noticed that Alt+Tabing back in the game tends to make it freeze.

Remove the -ne bit the command line option in your launcher.

I'm sorry I expressed myself wrong. What I mean is, when I play on windowed mode, my screen is not maximized. I want to maximize it, so can play in windowed mode without seeing my background. I think Brusilov once told how that was done, but I can't find his post anymore.

I completely agree. Most of the times it's no problem to alt-tab, but sometimes it just CTDs for no reason. Now I made a habit of always saving my game before alt-tabbing.
