Battles freeze and CTD

Everything went smoothly in my Roman campaign.
My armies crossed the Massalia narrow path (torwards to Massalia) and found a greek army there.
So far so good.
I loaded the battle.
It started and then everything on the battlefield was just like when a model had bone asignent problem.
I re load the battle and then i had a ctd .
3rd battle load and the game freesed.
I played automaticly and moove toi Massalia to asualt the city.
The battle there was perfect.
I had no such problems with other battles so far so i presume that the battlefield causes that problem.

I've moved this into it's own thread as we like to keep each CTD seperate.

If the game is freezing during a battle it's likely that your system is struggling with what you are asking of it. However, it is possible to get CTDs in a battle where there is something wrong with an animation (it does happen).

Unless you provide details of the battle and preferrably a compressed save game there is little we can do.

Is it a heavily forested battlefield? IF so it's likely to be the vegetation that's cuasing it and I suggest lowering your settings (maybe try the low res vegetation option in the launcher which reduces the tree density rather than the quality of the trees)
