    Default Odd Texture Problem

I've been noticing some minor graphical glitches with RS2. Not sure if my install just got messed up, or if there's some other issue.

The campaign general models seem to be just shades of grey, as shown below, and the banners are blurred. For some reason the diplomat is fine.

And the spy seems to be untextured as well.

In battle mode, the sky is glitched, and certain units seem to have black square borders around their shields, but that's all.

    Any ideas?

I would try reinstalling into a differnt folder and then copy pasting all the new files and replacing old ones might be a corrupt download.

Just to add: I followed all the installation steps, so RS2 is in a RTW directory of its own. In other words, I still have a vanilla RTW installation.

Then try doing what I said and see if it gets fixed

Tried it, didn't help. So you must be right, the download got corrupted. Thanks for the help!

So, I downloaded the files from a different resource, reinstalled everything, and I'm still encountering the same problems. Any ideas?

This problem has been encounted in several different mods over time.

Please post your PCs specs (CPU, memory, graphic card etc etc), the graphic options you've selected etc.

Over time there have been some very strange graphic errors on the campaign map in RTW games - quite often the banners are all 'greyed out'. This does look remarkably similar.

People have claimed that they resolved the issue but never posted how they did - despite PMs etc.

When TheHoff posts back we may know more.

I'm playing on BI v1.6, no Steam, at a resolution of 1024x768x32. All settings are on high, except Grass and Anti-Aliasing are off. No bloom, no high resolution models, and no gloss mapping.

    Here's some dxdiag info:

Can you confirm that the drivers for the X1300 are up-to-date?

Do you also get this in 'vanilla' RTW or other mods?

Does lowering the resolution help at all?

The drivers are old, but they're the latest from the manufacturer. I'm playing on a Dell laptop, so I have to use theirs. I tried to trick it into using a newer Catalyst driver, but then RTW wouldn't even load the campaign map after that.

In vanilla RTW I don't encounter any graphical problems; everything looks right.

Neither lowering nor raising the resolution seems to help at all.

OK, what do the units look like on the battlefield?

As I've posted previously I've heard that the problem can be fixed but the person who resolved the issue never told us what they had done - we had tried a lot of different things as well.

It's definitely something to do with your graphic card or drivers. What happens if you uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the X1300?

After uninstalling and reinstalling the X1300 driver, nothing's changed.

Yeah, something's seriously messed up with the graphics card or drivers there.
