    Default Spartan Rise

Wow I got to this is awesome

I started my first campaign as the proud Spartans and its been intense from the get go, the greeks tried to advance on Sparta it self but I was able to stop them

They sent 3 stacks against me but they were virtually destroyed on the path just north of the Spartan city.
After which I was able to secure a temporary peace with them, and at the same time they were able to secure Argos while I was able to take Olympia.

As soon as I was able to reform my 2 armies a full strength legion. Arrive south of Olympia and there is only one thing that I will think that they are going to do so right now I'm preparing my Spartan and allied armies foe total war against those traitirs of Rome.

Hehe I left the rebel cities and pushed for corinth. 1-2 more stacks of free greeks are lingering around Athens. You become to exposed if you take the 2 cities next to you ^^.

I lost my Spartan campaign. They had some super assassin and destroyed all of my family. You only start with 3 family members or so and within the first 10 turns I had no one left. Made me angry.

Yeah, my own Sparta campaign had a treacherous start. After losing one FM to old age and one in battle, I was left with only my faction leader and heir for 10 or 12 turns with the free Greeks on full offense. I honestly felt a sense of dread...

I'm in the first turns. The Achaeans are very aggressive. I'm waiting to see their next move, and then (when my second stack is ready and secures the north passage, Lykourgos will go to sack Olympia.

Impossible is not a fact It's an opinion. Impossible is nothing.

    Little off topic question:
Did you have dark bloom turned on for this screenshot? How did you run it? (simply by clicking the "bloom effects" in the launcher? Or do you have to do something else as well?) sorry for off topic

Yes dark bloom is on. I engaged it from the launcher. You can switch it on or off during the game with SHIFT+F12

Settling into a Greek campaign before taking the reins of Rome and world conquest. The Spartans just don't want to die on mine.

I just rushed them, using anti-Spartan tactics like Spartan Bowmen to shoot the hell out of opponents running around headless when besieging city's. First took Olympius, then in one round with one stack + reinforcements Argos, Corinth and Athens(Athenians waited outside the city with 3/4 stack). They had two stacks at the Macedonian border, so I build ballistas to take Thebens walls down so I wont have to fight the two stacks.

Now those loverboys got noting on me anymore. All in 4 rounds on VH/H. Next is Thermos and Kydonia...

I would have to say that the Spartan campaign was virtually tested until SwHunter wore it out....43 campaigns or so and counting. It's hard. It's fun. He provided excellent feedback, and it should be the perfect challenge for a faction that is on the brink of destruction.

And just ask SwHunter.....it isn't a good idea to piss off the Romans early.

well as long as i know i didnt do anything to piss them off, well at least in the beginning, now i would
understand because i've destroyed like 6 of their stacks, costly i might add

i've had to resort to my navy, they are doing the dirty job of wiping out enemy ships carrying soldiers
and even then they somehow manage to slip through and attack Olympia

on the other hand the Greeks aren't doing much other than dying at the northern pass of Sparta
so now im looking at Crete for my third settlement

Same for me, No more free Greeks in southern Greece, moving against Macedonians now. Only because they started a war with me. They were my ally, so I was fighting Rome, Forget name, but blue shield with snake and Egypt. Then just as I started to fight Blue/snake and Egypt, Macedonians attacked me. So I'm now at war with Macedonians, Rome, Egypt, Last of the Free Greeks and Blue Shields with snake. Having a blast. So far only lost one Battle against Macedonians, only because it was 4 full Armies against one. LOL.
SO I have Macedonians coming south to attack me, Rome landing Troops on my west coast, Free Greeks show up every 5 to 10 turns with a full stack at Sparta, the Blue Shields with snake landing troops on my east coast line, and Egypt landing troops on Islands I hold just east of Sparta. LOL

lol exact same situation. Dont have war with Rome and Ptollies yet though, but Macedonian Chalcis has the honor to be the first to go tomorrow morning.

I have cleared the Free Greeks out of southern Greece and am pushing the Macedonians increasingly further north. However, an allied Roman/Pergamon/Ptolemaic invasion force is landing multiple stacks in my heartland every turn, is this happening to anyone else?

-Also, it seems like these same factions frequently will request ceasefires of me, only to launch an attack in the very next turn.

Just as DVK said. Don't tick off a larger power than yourself or throw in the towel!
Watch your econ. And the levels of happiness. You don't need a rebellion either.
Mace. is very powerful. Don't auto battles them or your dead!
Don't fight Romans to early or go to far from your supply.
    Or you will be sorry....
Also a word of advice. Stay within the Greek territories you plan to take and control. If you go towards Samaria, or East, northern tribes.Their archers and horse archers will mow down your army.

But since you guys are the kings of your kingdom ,have fun. for tomorrow you die!
