Weird Sound Issue RTW on Windows 7

Running Windows 7 x64

Purchased RTW from Steam...

Works fine... smooth and all but no sound other than the music... really weird... I can understand if no sound at all... but why do I get music and nothing else...

Alexander works perfect no issues...

Trying to introduce my bf to Rome... he skipped it to go to M2tw

Check your sound sliders in the Options panel. I have all mine up to the top. If you are missing voices, it could be a faction that has none for that action.

all sound is up to top... it just doesn't play any sound other than music it's wierd... did a full install again too... oh well... wonder what Alexander does diff that allows it play sound fine... it is kinda cool hearing the music only tho... hehe

Check the settings in the preferencces.txt.

What sound card or on-board sound do you have?

Are the drivers up-to-date?

I know with Sound Blaster both Vista and 7 are a bit dodgy. Despite still being able to buy these cards games like RTW cannot allow EAX in-game. There are patches released - it's called Alchemy but it still doesn't work for me.

Every thing up to date... Weird is there something I can copy and paste that could help you guys?

Got it working...

Funny thing... did nothing different than just start game up again...

Now it works... even after unistall and fresh install it's working now...

Weird I would assume I would have had to do something to get it working...

So it's all set... if you want to close this thread I'm all good
