I have captured many generals and family memebers.
but this is the first time I caught a big fish like a King or Emperor
I was impressed the "poor" cash he deserved
what's the highest amount you had for an important character?

Not sure, I know I once raided the russians as the danes, and I nabbed their king, who was alone, with some sneaky beaver moves. He pulled me out of debt when they (suprisingly) payed up.
I had the same amount of money as u have in ur pic but not more than 12000 i think. I never understood the basics of ransom i mean what actually decides the ransom value coz i never researched in it i guess.
I think it depends upon the stats of a general and kings authority etc that decides the ransom value. What do u guys think?
That'd make sense, maybe you could try to find the file regarding it? I wonder if it's randomized though.
I have never captured such a "big fish"
Got 30000 to sack a city though![]()
Not sure but often Faction leader is about 10000-11000 while heir is about 8000. The other thing like start,trail... may increase the prize
Was offered a ransom of 10000 for Hungary's 4th king, 5000 for its 4th heir and a few grand for their army, around 18000 in total. They couldn't pay up, so despite still having some units in Sofia Hungary was vanished from the face of the planet. Sofia turned rebel.
Most European factions pay pretty much the same. Of course I only got to capture some lame family members. The good ones always tend to fight to the end.
Islamic factions seem to value their family members more though, no matter how good they are. I doubt you can get more than 12000. It's still good money.

Year i have no idea about modding. I'm just a gamer![]()
when playing as ireland in britannia campaign i laid siege to derry only for it to switch to the barons alliance the next turn. i attacked and took a lot of the garrison prisoner including the faction leader. ransom totaled about 20,000. the paid it and it left them completely bankrupt for the rest of the game and were later easily defeated
Ever captured a King, Prince and another General in one battle?
Nope.
Well lets just say, it amounted up to well over 25 000 florins considering the huge army that was with them. A mass cavalry charge put their entire army into rout, making an easy mop up. Btw, I was playing as HRE and vsing Poland.
In this case I was running out of money. and needed it so badly
so I decided to offer the ransom to get the money but they didnt pay
I think one of the reasons was they didnt have money
I think there should be choices to negociate...like, give me money, or a region o some units
dont attack in some turns, etc.
it happen to me once, the enemy captured a general and offered to free him for money
I wanted my general back but didnt have money and they kill him

I've ransomed the enemy faction leader, received gobs of money -- like yours, and then immediately attack him again next turn to cash him in again. It worked pretty good . for a while i was just milking the guy and letting him go every turn. I really wanted to just kill him, but that was some good money for two or three turns. I believe that was in RTW, not sure.
