Best hotseat pals?

Who in your opinion are the two factions best paired for a twin hotseat campaign?

Criteria being:
- Possibilities of cooperation in defeating common enemies
- Different spheres of influence and different natural expansion areas.
- Similar culture and goals.

Harad/Rhûn got my vote, since I'm currently playing a game with a friend as exactly those two

I like Eriador & High Elves, mainly because the HE can form a cordon for Eriador while it fixes itself up for the Arnor change.

Also, it means I have something interesting to do while Eriador is doing nothing much but defence.

Regarding spheres of influence, both have Isenguard, OOM and OOG to split up, after that we just sail down to Harad and start expanding side by side.

I can't judge it properly since I haven't played all these pairings, but I did a Dwarves and Dale hot seat with a friend wchich was very good, the best of those I have played. We were fighting back to back: He finished Rhun with Dale, while I followed the mountains westward and killed the OotMM (It was before the Orcs of Gundabad). Then we combined our forces against Mordor: I came from the west, went over Dol Guldur to the Black Gate, he came from the east over Nurn.

It was a lot of fun, but we finished it when we were just about to fight Harad after Mordor's death, because a new patch came out.

We also did Harad and Rhun, but only rather shortly.

Our Gondor/ Arnor campaign is still running (though long interrupted because of real life), but it was not that good because of the different speed. While I was having a fun and action-packed Gondor campaign, everything in Arnor went rather slow in comparison.

I've played a lot of TATW hotseat with a friend of mine, and this is how I would describe them:

Harad/Rhûn: A very good and interesting campaign. Even more interesting because of my addiction to betraying Mordor after conquering Gondor as Harad
Gondor/Rohan: That's also a good one, but a little difficult to help each other, it's easier to fight alone.
Eriador/Dale: A strange choice we did there, but it was fun nonetheless. It became like two single-player campaigns though, since we're too far from each other.
High Elves/Silvan Elves: This was not a good campaign, at least not for us. Impossible to support each other in the start, but after some time it became more challenging and fun (though Haldir died )

I LOVE this poll. I usually get 4-6 friends over every week and we just play a huge hotseat, but every now and then it's just 2 of us. We almost always do a Dwarves/ silvan elves combo but Dwarves/Dale is also popular with us.

I voted for gondor/arnor combination but now I see dwaves and dale so I would have voted for them.

I'd say Dwarves and Rhùn, even if there are not in the list.

Rhùn has the best cavalry and one of the best archers. Also, elite pikemen.

Dwarves has probably the best heavy infantry.

True - but it would be great for a coordinated assault on Gondor. Maybe too easy though.

Gondor and Rohan... because those two need to work together like no other factions and the AI never manages to do so.

i voted Gondor -Arnor to quick,now under thought i think the best choice would be Dwarves+Eriador vs common enemies in grand campaign Orcs of the Misty Mountains + Orcs of Gundabad

one take care Gundabad in one side and the other takes out the filthy orcs of Misty mountains.

Speaking from experience, the Dwarves and Dale are by far the funnest two factions to play in a hotseat, SE are a good choice if you have a third buddy. Harad and Rhun aren't bad but their starting positions (Harad's especially) makes the campaign a bit boring.
