Default I Need A Little English Help

I'm playing as England Early Campaign, and its turn 45. I control all of Britain, Rennes, Caen, Bruges, Antwerp, and Jerusalem. Im leading the world as an economic figure, so I am now considered a "Super Power." And so, to show im really powerful, I wish to invade Denmark. The only problem is my 2 field armies (One in London, the other in Jerusalem) are out dated/could be improved. If im going to take Denmark, im going to need an army capable of taking on multiple full stack ax weilding hordes! So could someone help critic my army setup?

My Army composition is a follows:

1 Gen, 2 Miles, 2 Hobilars, 5 Light men at arms, 4 norman serjeants, 4 longbowmen, 2 levy archers.

P.S. ( I need some inexpensive units there to soften the load on my wallet, and it makes it a little more historical) =]

Well you seem to have a lot of relativly expensive units. The men at arms are good, but if you're fighting danes you don't need good infantry seeing as they'll still have better.

I'd suggest losing the hobilars, maybe add a unit of Miles (that's the way to beat an army of infantry like the Danes) and keeping a good archer stock.

Basic strategy might be to put archers up front, when they get close you pull them back and move the infantry in to pin them down. Then the heavy cavalry can sweep in and slaughter the lot of them! (from the flanks obviously).
So i wouldn't rely on the infantry for killing stuff, just to make sure that they're standing on the X-mark so to speak.

I would also recommend capturing the most southern fortress (i forgot the name), so you are only fighting in one direction and you can train good units if necessary.

    Don't?
I don't understand the problem, why don't you just defeat the invasion? It's stuff like this that make the game enjoyable, if it was all going as planned it wouldn't interest me in the least.

If you MUST start over because the AI proved to be slightly intelligent, Late England is pretty much the same as early England.

    Agreed.

In my campaigns when AI send me any invasion force (which is really unlikely I don't know why but AI seem to be unwilling to send any landing party to Britain) I get really excited. Though I always keep a ready army in Nottingham and and some in London, I'm always on "attacker" role, and gathering forces for a defence and prepare for a retaliation always a very exciting thing to do for me. In my previous England campaign my borders were similar to yours, and I was attacked by Norway (They attacked my northern europe border I can't remember the name atm) when my armies were away. But luckily so were theirs. Instead of sending my homeland defence force to their attacking army I send them to invade their lands, while I gather small forces and marching them to defend my besieged settlement. So as I expected their settlements were totally unprapared and defenceless, I divide my armies in two and took four of their settlements in two turns forcing them to break their siege and return to defence their lands. But then I called my armies back, I destroyed every building in their conquered settlements and left to rebels. It took them around 15 turns to recover from that impact and they were still struggling with rebels later in the game.

AI rarely keeps a defence force in their lands when they are on an attacking spree. Even if they have any they are most likely to be deep in their territory mostly in some castle nearby their Capital. So you can still capture their undefended settlements. I don't destroy factions even when they become a pain. I conquer their lands, left them to rebels then ceasefire and fall back. I even sometimes give them some money to rebuild. If they are far from my borders at least. Note that I do this even to some faction far away from my lands, I just prevent any other faction to become stronger than me. My faction must always be the supreme power and no other faction can. Sometimes I even help a distant faction in distress conquer the settlements of their enemies and give them back freely or in exchange of regular payments or alliances. I like to shape the map as I see fit

Well, Im doing what im doing because i also got bored. There were no major wars due to my vast client states/allies. I basically made the UN but Denmark didnt join, so i was going to invade them. I did do it... and i find myself bored because everyone loves each other. Im going to play late england and NOT make a vast ally system. Just gona ally the Germans, and Spanish, and maybe the Genoeese. Ill play it by ear.

In my new Campaign I got two full stacks ready to give the final blow to scotland (im surprised they put up such fight for 20+ turns)

haha i told you last night on steam to watch out for them Norway and Danes are infantry based really so I just make sure to have at most 6 good charge value cav. I use mercs (preferably non english ones ) to be used as bait/distraction while my cav goes into the rear and just destroys them utterly lol
