CTD about 5-6 mins into first battle

I have my vegetation settings on Lowest(with the RS II launcher). Pretty much every time I fight a battle I get a CTD about 5-6 mins into the game.

Unit scale is Normal and everything else is default.

PLZZ HELP!

What is the config of your computers?
Have you tried lowering the details?

As Paedric has suggested turn down some of the graphic settings and see what happens. There is a section on 'performance' in the installer.

Also drop the resolution to the lowest setting - it may look nasty but it's one cleatr way to see if it's the settings you are using are too much for your card (and it's a quicker way than fiddling with a lot of settings).

Everything is at the lowest setting. I have even reinstalled RS2.

Still keeps crashing during the first battle a few mins in.

Also, try to do a custom battle in a tree-less battlefield, these are real killer, and if it works, your graphic card is probably not powerful enough.

Same problem. (Exe file - Bi) Windows Vista. I'd reinstalled repeatedly. But this does not help.

Maybe CTD happens when I zoom mouse wheel

If a game CTDs part-way through a battle it's usually the graphics card crying that it's had enough.

In this case all that can be done is to lower the graphic settings - including the resolution. You need to spost the specs of your PC.

It is possible for the game to CTD part-way through a battle if there is something wrong with a unit - it could be a bad animation or something else. These are usually picked up in beta testing. However, as no-one has provided a save game prior to the battle or even posted a screen that shows which units are involved then we can't do anything.

We need information to work on - we are not mind-readers!

Have you got unit shaders turned on? If not then turn them on in video settings.

Did you select hi resolution vegetation in the launcher? If so, then change that to default.

Might also be worthwhile seeing if the same battle bugs out using RTW vanilla. I had one particluar battle in my 3rd or 4th Selecuids Campaign (BI, hh, 0 turn) where the game would crash 5mins into the battle without fail but vanilla RTW it was just fine. Also have you updated your gfx card drivers ?

As the OP has not posted the specs of the PC that they are using for 5 days - I've assumed that the problem has been resolved.
