    Default Reunited Kingdom Mod (In development and Recruiting)

    We are planning to make a submod for TATW which allows the Reunited Kingdom to be re-united.
    We need new members of the team, especially some who are good at:
    -Scripting
    -Making units

    Reunited Kingdom of Gondor and Arnor:

    Culture: Dúnedain
    Capital city: Osgiliath?
    Faction Leader: High King (with the trait 'High King of Gondor and Arnor')
    Icon: The White Tree and the Seven Stars (borrowed from FATW)


    1st colour: Black
    2nd colour: Purple


    Units:
    Gondor area units
    Axemen of Lossarnach (Lossarnach)
    Pelagir Marines (Pelargir)
    Citadel Guard ( Guards of Minas Tirith?)
    Fountain Guard (Minas Tirith)
    Blackroot Vale Archers (Erech and Calembel)
    Ithilien Rangers (Ithilien)
    Swan Knights (Dol Amroth)
    Dismounted Swan Knights ( Dol Amroth)

    Arnor area units
    Arnor Men at Arms
    Arnorian Heavy Archers
    Hollow Steel Marksmen
    Knights of Annumínas (Annúminas)
    Dismounted Dunedain Knights (Annúminas)

    Missions for the factions to re-unite:


    For Gondor:

    "New Mission
    Take settlements: Black Gate, Minas Morgul & Barad-Dûr
    Rebuild: Osgiliath (and the Dome of Stars and the Great Bridge), Minas Ithil and the North-south Road
    Secure an alliance with Arnor
    Reward: The Kingdom of Arnor will join your faction"

    For Arnor:

    "New Mission
    Take settlements: Carn Dûm, Gram, Lond Daer
    Rebuild: Annúminas, the North-south Road & the fortress of Fornost Erain
    Secure an alliance with Gondor
    Reward: The Kingdom of Gondor will join your faction"

    Also, there should be certain buildings and settlements that can be rebuilt after the re-union:
    The Great Watchtower of Amon Sûl
    The Port of Lond Daer
    The Bridge of Tharbad

    In general a very good idea. Though one or two thoughts:

    If the capital is Osgiliath, then the loss because of corruption will be quite high, or. Normally it´s wise to have the capital in the center of the country.

    If the black gates, Minas Mogul and Barad Dur are in Gondors Hands, than the game is almost over anyway.
    I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain.

    Yep, but Osgiliath is the lore-accurate capital. And of course, Osgiliath will only be the starting capital, the player has the option to change his capital after that

    According to the response we've got, this is the most popular choice.
    And, in the lore, the Reunited Kingdom was created after the fall of Sauron, so yes, the game is nearly over anyway. If you get more people to support the idea of reuniting earlier, then we could change our decision

    The capital of the Reunited Kingdom in the book is actually Minas Tirith.

    It's actually Annúminas

    But what I mean is that Osgiliath was the capital of Elendil and Isildur, and always the capital of Gondor (until the Kin-strife). If you then think of it's position (between 4 fortresses) it's the natural capital

    And as I wrote, you can always change it

    Then it sounds like this should be part of the Fourth Age Mod, and you could have as enemies followers of Ungoliath and/or the New Shadow.

    Boys if you know how to change kalmar union script will be great,I have some plan for a very long time,new Arnor gave me a hope but I don't know if kalmar union can unite two factions peaceful.

    but whats the point in having the reunited kingdom when everythings basically over and the game is won?
    all those extra units are just a waste by then because everythings beaten.
    its a superflous idea if the player never really gets a couple hundred turns to enjoy it.

    Maybe you could serve both sides. Give the Lore Nazguls your current victory conditions and those whose would also like to play with a reunited Kindom for a while you could give the evil side some re-enforcement. Will say some full stack Mordor, Harad, Gundabad and Rhun Armies, could spawn in the east and overrun Dale, Dwarves and reconquer Mordor.

    A nice idea, maybe some extra crusades may be planned, but Mordor is as good as out and every normall thinking Arnorian player already powned Gundabad and the Hithaeglir. Some extra Hardadrim and Rhunnic stack are a good idea, and anything eveil left will get something extra too maybe...
