Whenever I put the the code in it says medieval 2 has encountered a fatal error and will now close. I just copied and pasted the code on this site to the bottom of the file. How do I get it to work?

Hey, nice job with this forum. I just signed in, but I've been playing TATW since .. a lot! heheh.

Now, I tried edditing the file to make Hotseat work on Vanilla but it seems that when I get in-game the file goes back to its original.. Does anyone know how to change this? I tried re-configuring the permissions settings, but it still happens.

    Thanks o/

    LoL. Sorry.

Stupid that I am, I was expecting the game to create a button for the hotseat campaign when actually the single player campaign turns into a hotseat mode.

Well, thank you either way o/

The original CFG file gets rewritten every time the game exits, manual entries get deleted. You will have to make the file read-ony after your changes.

If you want to play the grand campaign in a hotseat simply download and install my Bare Geomod set up.

The hotseat can be found in the multi player section in the game options.

Remove the section, start again and confirm that you can play the game. Then copy it back in again. Use Notepad to edit the CFG file - any other editor may lead to hidden formatting which could crash the game.

The quote had nothing to do with this, I just thought since I couldn't send you a PM this would suffice. Hello Sir! Please Help me! My friend and I are trying to set up hotseat for vanilla mtw2 and we cannot stop autoresolve in battles. I have tried everything. I used the code you posted in one thread. I have copied medieval2.preference.cfg and renamed it to multiplayer. I have added the [hotseat] lines into the script with autoresolve false. File was changed to be read only. Then I have created the bat file to start mtw2 trough that script. I started the campaign and a couple of things happen. We do not get notifications regarding marriages or adoption or the report about our spending and faction rank. I cannot see any reports that I usually get from single player campaign. Also when AI takes turns and attacks my friend or me, we cannot see who what or where and cannot choose to fight the battles or retreat. I was hoping that you will help me kind Sir, as you have helped many others in this community. I am utterly desperate. I hope that you will reply quickly and with haste.
Wishing all the best, filozof (philosopher in English)
