    Default AI making battles unplayable

I've started a Spartan campaign and cannot get past the first battle due to issues with the AI. For informational purposes, the battle is a siege on a free people's town and they are the aggressors as I have provoked them into attacking by starving them out. At the beginning of the battle the entire enemy force just lumps into a giant ball and freezes. Whenever I tell my forces to move, they just disperse out onto the map, meaning each individual soldier heads off in a separate direction creating a 'cloud' of units. So basically, the enemy just locks up and my troops don't listen whatsoever. Could this have anything to do with me having to copy the files over into the RTW folder after getting the 'cannot find..' error?

    - I am using XP.

    - I am using RTW 1.5

    - I am NOT using Steam.

    - M:\Program Files\Activision\Rome Total War

    - RTW exe and Spartan faction

To start, check the information to download the 6 files into a folder on desktop.
Then hit RS2 exe. in your folder to start-up and point it to your copy( Mine is RS2 /RTW )
    Then follow instructions.
If you have further problems post screen shots and error messages..
Make sure you have a clean copy. And follow down load posts.

I have the same os you have, and using RTW, not steam.

I followed the instructions and the game itself runs fine. I guess I could post screenshots of soldier behavior in battle and see if you know what's happening?

i have the exact same problem, i was playing as the cimbri and half the units i'd order to move somewhere would either run to the other side of the map or spread out, like the loose formation but x10. i thought it was some new barbarian feature lol

In what resolution (from the game's option) do you have this result.
In my game everything looks pixeled...
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

So what should we do about that problem? Or, what would be your guess? Thx.

And also after quicksaving my save was named "buggy save"..anyone knows why?

    No.

One of the things that has not been pushed is the fact that the RS team recommends that the AUTOSAVE feature is turned off and you don't use Quicksave.

Have a read of this thread: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=100384

This should not have any affect on the units as shown in this thread but I've mentioned it as you are doing quicksaves.

There does appear to be something strange happening to the unint behaviour though.

OK, the buggy save is not the big problem. But I CANT FIGHT ANY BATTLES because of that stupid unit behaviour.

In ALL of our testing, no one has ever reported that kind of behavior from units, nor have I ever seen it myself. Is it every battle, or just the one?

I noticed that too. I laid siege to Genoa and it's Carthaginian garrison attacked me. At the start of the battle I quickly ordered my troops to arrange into line but then it happened. All my units refused to listen orders and some dispersed. Enemy units just stood there. After a while it was over and i could move my units again.

    Weird.
