Failed to install the game:"Source file not found"

I've downloaded all the files needed to install the mod from Filefront.
Unfortunately it seems i can't install the mod:
1-if I try to launch the setup.exe it fails asking to verigy the package exist and that I can access it.
2-if I launch the .msi setup, after I selected the folder where to install (which is not C:\ ), it start the process and the it stops complaining "soruce file not found:E\RS2\RS21.cab. Verify the file exist and you can access it".
The file is obviously there, and I redownloaded 2 times to be sure it wasn't corrupt.

The operating system is 7 64bit, and RTW is updated to 1.9 (all expansions are there too..)

Does the folder that you have the six files in look like the one that is in the install instructions?

When I used the setup exe earlier today form one source Norton took exception to it and I tried using it from a different source (from the posted list) and it worked OK.

Can you post a screen of the error message when you run the setup?

thanks for the reply, here's the error message in case I launch the rsII_setup.exe

If I launch the msi. installer I get this error:

You can see in the first screenshot I have all the 6 files in the same folder

None of the files should have a double extension. Judging by this picture...

It sounds like a corrupted download, which can occasionally happen.
The installer works perfectly so I'd suggest downloading the RS21.cab again, and maybe the .msi file.

Thanks for suggestions, I solved the problem.
I didn't notice the file got double extension while downloading, renaming solved the problem.

I still did not get to the bottom of this issue. I went into folder options and unchecked the file extentions and renamed the file many times and nothing.

It's to do with the folder options. From the screen shot there are some files with extensions and others without.

In the Folder Options there is an option to 'hide known extensions' - I would presume that 'cab' is a known extension so the RS21.cab file really is RS21.cab.cab.

I don't know if it's possible to just rename the file or it it needs to be re-downloaded without the double extension.

Yeah exactly I unchecked the box before I downloaded the msi file but i'll try it again to see if it works. I can't fiqure this out? I tryed again for the 10th time and nothing...

make sure to delete the old file before downloading a new copy of it.

Fixed, and am playing the game now (though I have a curious thing where some grassland shows up as water, are other people having this issue or just me?). I would love to tell people how I fixed it, but sadly I spent 4 hrs tinkering and re-installing and consulting various threads, so I lost track of how i fixed it. (I had the steam edition which made things a bit harder)

Dang...Cause I am currently struggling just as you were before I guess.
I have only successfully downloaded the RS21.cab thing so far. The 2nd one
keeps being weird on me.

I am getting this error when downloading and installing the RS2.msi file.

Source file not found:
C:Users/damo/Appdata/Local/Microsoft/Windows/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/YI4YQ3JL/RS21.cab.
Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
