The other day I was playing a battle against the Iroquois the other day as the British I had an army that was drawing near to the end of its campaign in north America so they were very experienced professional killers. I was fighting the natives in there last settlement on the continent I was outnumber but had superior experience and fire power. The battle dwindled on until there was one last unit of bow men hanging at the back I sent my dragoons to engage them but as soon as the charge hit home 3 units of native warriors appeared and surrounded my dragoons I decided to withdrew them with only 60 or so remaining of about 120. I was bogged down and outnumbered so I decided to order my howitzers to open fire with quicklime shot as I watched my brave men choke and die next to there comrades who were fleeing for there lives the remaining warriors broke off to engage my main battle line 5 or so dragoons were retreating towards my line as my howitzers lobbed exploding shells into the throng of desperate men my skirmishers and men of the line opened fire they cut down my fleeing dragoons and the native warriors the battle was won as they fruitlessly clashed against my grenadiers but I was hit by a pang of guilt when I had seen that I had killed 4000 of the enemy whilst only loosing 500 men.
My question is do you ever feel guilt or imagine the individual soldiers emotions during the battle or do you see yourself defeating the ai that has plagued this series of games since the beginning.![]()
