Have stuck with new map on my currant campaign despite arty movements probs on a couple of locations, must say with the SPQR skins its better than ever, looks and feels fantastic, great job. Hope the new version keeps the maps!

Newer version is even better, Grass is more varied in height, hills are less, More open Fields no little trees and Sieges around cities no longer have issues of arty getting stuck. SPQR 8.0 will have the new map and will be released in the near future.

The map though is not my work for of the RS2 team, the leader used to be a fan of SPQR and kindly offered a version similar to their 2.0 map but unique in that it has things similar to RS1.6. I think everyone will like it.

There is one Problem, Saved games could have issues for players playing without the new map, the old map has things located in different areas and those areas could be blocked with the new map.

I am looking forward to the new Map.
SPQR has certainly transformed my playing of RTW and I must use this opportunity to thank all (esp it1956) for the amazing work you guys have done in this regard!
I have finally set up a Home Lan and play my boy regularly. He has Down Syndrome, and struggles with table top rules/figure however I can actually now play him a wargame, and when there are no rulesets to wade through, he's damn good!
I use the vanilla version for multiplay (at least runs with no cd) however am wondering if SPQR is 'multiplayable' (Guess not?)
    Happy gaming!

SPQR is multiplayable, but the problem is missiles do more damage than in the normal game. So i believe the attacker would have a disadvantage.

I will try to look for the thread that was started for the multiplayer games.

I'm anxiously awaiting the next incarnation of SPQR. I've enjoyed this since I think 6.0? Keep up the good work!

Thanks Hesus. Will try multiplay with SPQR and be wary of the missile troops. (I guess this goes both ways)
BTW have now discovered Europa Barbarum (& downloaded the huge files). Seems to be working well with SPQR, RTW BI, & RTW Vanilla on same drive. So many games...so little time!

What do you mean with same drive?

The game doesn't give any problems when you use a separate folder of RTW with SPQR on a drive with other mods. The game will crash when you install different mods in the same RTW folder.

Does that mean that the new map is only available with a new version of SPQR 8.0- or will be there an update for the 7.0 players??

Well some saved games wont work with the new map, mainly because of locations changing, you may have armies in the middle of the mountains, the new map is FAR better than any SPQR map used before.
