Default Two wonderful things I discovered in 6.3

To me they are new... And I've been an intensive M2 player since it came out.

The weather is much improved. I was playing a battle at dusk and suddenly it became night. Whoa. And I was also surprised to see dense fog lifting. Until now the only weather variation I had seen was the rain changing intensity.

Also, now when you order an infanty regiment to charge, they do. I hated it when you ordered them to attack and two or three valiant guys would peel off from the formation and charge, while the rest actually retreated from the fight!

For the first thing, about weather, it can sometimes become too weird. See this thread.

First thing I noticed was the atmosphere created by the lighting and weather during a battle against the Turks. The battle transitioned from a heavy rainstorm at the beginning of the battle to a burst of sunshine as my Kataphraktoi burst over the hill into the heart of the turkish ranks. Isn't that a bit of serendipity?

What if he's an atheist, though, like me?

I really like the atmosphere caused by the weather, but I hate those damn snow-storms. I can't see anything at all, while the AI sees right through it.

I don't think so. The AI also don't see me. In a sally battle by the rebels, the rebel knights galloped into my knights with lances upwards, they don't even charge at my knights even they are 3 yards away. I charged them down with my general finishing them off. In fact I don't see them coming and I thought they would charge at my knights who just stood there coz I had not ordered them to charge or something. And it was during a snow storm. Camera offers only 50yards visibility.

They seem to know where every single one of my units are, even in thick fog or in a snowstorm :/
Cavalry not charging though, is due to bad path-finding, probably. Some times, cavalry just won't charge for some reason, even though you order them to and they have plenty of room to build up speed.

During a snowstorm in Scotland, I lost my entire army against a swarm of highlanders who were used to enormous army engulfing blizzards (I suppose?), whereas mine merely said "Wots that thingummy 'eadin straight for us?" and got surrounded by an angry swarm of hatchets and pikes.

I had one battle where a heavy snow storm lifted just as my English Knights charged to victory - i nearly had tears in my eyes, it was so heroic.

And yes, infantry charges are loads better. Another HUGE improvement is that cavalry are actually able to follow and destroy routing troops, rather than continuously stop/start and never capturing anyone!

Agreed. Though they still seem to have problems with it at times inside settlements, and when the gates are closed and routing units are stuck outside.

Open gate, sure. Closed gate, though, and your cavalry seldom wants to engage at all.

Yes generally i HATE seiges because the AI is so useless in castles. Pathfinding is awful and routing units always get stuck. Fortresses are my worst nightmare i tell you!
